Job description

Astroscale UK is seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team as a Marketing and Communications Officer. Positioned within the wider UK Commercial Team, the MarComms Team works closely with Business Development, Business Analysis, Sales and Policy to market and raise awareness of Astroscale UK’s products, services, technical developments, and regulatory progress. The Marketing & Communications Officer plays a key role within the MarComms Team, supporting all marketing & communications activities and taking a lead on event management, merchandise and outreach.

You will work closely with all members of the UK MarComms Team, supporting the delivery of effective marketing campaigns to raise brand awareness and generate leads. You will contribute to the global MarComms Team, specifically on event management and logistics to ensure a consistent presence and output across Astroscale’s regions



Responsibilities 

  • Supporting Head/team to develop plans on conference and events attendance to meet specific targets, managing the calendar and logistics for all UK & Europe based events, carrying out post-event evaluation and contributing to USA and Asia event management as required.
  • Providing Astroscale UK representation at conferences and events.
  • Managing the inventory and budget for MarComms merchandise and materials, scoping requirements and placing orders for new merchandise.
  • Supporting Head/team to develop MarComms campaigns and implement plans for assigned products and services.
  • Managing capture and distribution of contacts and leads through Salesforce and tracking and evaluating lead generation and marketing campaign success.
  • Providing public relations and media support, drafting press releases, carrying out regular media monitoring and evaluation.
  • Assisting with the development of high-quality written content for dissemination across Astroscale’s digital channels.
  • Supporting the Digital & Creative Marketing Manager to develop digital and print assets including video, infographics, banners and other marketing materials.
  • Ensuring the global website is up to date with the latest information from Astroscale UK.
  • Managing the Astroscale UK intranet site and sales enablement tools, ensuring external MarComms assets and guidance for use are up to date and easy to find.
  • Supporting the MarComms Team and carrying out general marketing & communications activities as required.



Essential Skills


  • A higher education qualification (e.g. degree or diploma) in marketing/communications or a related subject.
  • Experience working in a busy marketing and/or communications team, preferably in an engineering, technology, science, or space company.
  • Experience managing events and/or coordinating event logistics.
  • Good English writing and editing skills, able to succinctly summarise complex technical information for different audiences.
  • Some experience in drafting copy such as press releases, blogs, newsletters etc.
  • Some experience of using social media platforms and management tools, such as X Pro (Tweetdeck), and media monitoring tools such as Meltwater.  
  • Keen attention to detail and accuracy.
  • A flexible and can-do approach to delivering tasks on time and to a high quality.
  • Resilient and calm under pressure, with the ability to respond to change, adjust work priorities and meet tight deadlines.



Desirable skills

  • Experience working within the space industry.
  • Experience working for a global company.
  • Experience of developing SharePoint / Microsoft Teams spaces, including document management, developing sites etc.
  • Experience in using a Customer Relationship Management tool such as Salesforce.  
  • Experience in public and/or educational outreach activities focused on STEM subjects.
  • Website content maintenance experience.
