Job description

Omitron is seeking a Database Administrator on our team in Colorado Springs.

Responsibilities:

Develop SQL procedures/scripts to aid in DB monitoring and data integrity tracking
Monitor DB health and performance and intervene when necessary to ensure 24/7 ops and optimal responsiveness in a classified environment
Author database modifications, either data-related or DDL-related, via a configuration-controlled patching process

Minimum Requirements:

US Citizenship required
Experience: 5+ years (10+ years preferred) relevant experience
Familiarity with SQL and PL/SQL
Familiarity with Postgres and other relational databases
Experience creating and designing relational databases to include data modeling
Ability to assess query performance and improve queries for optimal performance/efficiency
Ability to troubleshoot DB performance
Ability to work with software developers to provide the backend DB implementations that will facilitate making software performant and effective

Desired Qualifications:

Current security clearance
Strong experience with DB Administration in an operational environment, including performance tuning and quick troubleshooting to ensure 100% DB availability
Familiarity with Patroni DB clustering technology and high availability configurations
Familiarity with DB backup and restore (Postgres-focused preferred)
Experience with DB replication and failover (Postgres-focused preferred)
Familiarity with best security practices for databases, especially in a classified environment

Compensation and Benefits:
The salary range for this role is $125,000 to $150,000, depending on relevant experience, location, and other factors.
