We’re on the hunt for a motivated and talented Engineering Student in our RF & Power & Component engineering department at our Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue office. This is a 4 months mandate (with a possibility of 8 months) starting in January 2025.

Overall the successful candidate would be treated similar to a new graduate joining our company, where tasks will be assigned relative to the level of schooling and experience achieved to date.
Role:
The successful candidate will support the Component Engineering team in the optimization of internal parts selection processes and in the continuous improvement of our Electronic, Electronics, and Electromechanical (EEE) components database. The successful candidate will actively contribute to the improvement of internal processes for the identification and selection of EEE parts for space systems, as well as to the enrichment and methodological structuring of our component database. Knowledge of military standards relating to the specification, selection and qualification of parts is an asset.
Responsibility/Tasks:
- Contribute to the improvement and maintenance of the electronic components database, ensuring that data is up-to-date, accurate, and compliant with required quality and reliability standards.
- Participate in the evaluation and integration of a list of industry-leading parts manufacturers (ILPM) who produce reliable, high-quality components and do not require additional testing.
- Create new EEE part numbers.
- Provide technical support to the component engineering team, through the preparation of source control plans (procurement specifications).
- Assist in the revision of technical specifications and the preparation of compliance documents for new components entered into the database.
- Help ensure that the processes and products of EEE component suppliers are well controlled and comply with applicable standards.
- Act as technical interface and coordinator with suppliers for meetings, documentation exchanges, NDAs, export controls, etc (Qualification, etc).
- Review/approve incoming component data (incoming inspection reviews), including APD results from external APD houses.
- Assign value-added services to EEEs to ensure full compliance with product warranty requirements.
- Maintain EEE item database (item creation/revision, documentation verification/update, etc.).
- Contribute to assessing the impact of supplier/industry product change alerts/notifications.
- Participate in product warranty efforts/initiatives (continuous improvement, corrective actions, 8D approach, etc.).
Minimum qualifications required:
- The successful candidate must be in the process of obtaining a Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in engineering (electronics, mechanical, materials science, mechatronics or similar with exposure to EEE items/parts);
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in French and English;
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, mainly Excel;
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Asset:
- Knowledge of MIL, NASA and ESA standards for components and materials such as:
- NASA GSFC EEE-INST-002 Instructions for the selection, qualification and decommissioning of EEE parts, ECSS-Q-ST-60 (Product Assurance Requirements of Space EEE Components) and their subsidiary specifications
- MIL-STD-883/750 (Test Methods and Procedures for Microelectronics)
- Experience in SEM, EDX, X-ray and other destructive and non-destructive techniques used for EEE inspection;
- Knowledge of quality control and reliability of EEE components;
