Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Weapon System Verification Development Lead - Staff Systems Engineer. This position is primarily located in either Roy, Utah or Huntsville, AL. Northrop Grumman supports the Air Force’s sustainment, development, production and deployment of hardware and system modifications for Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) Ground and Airborne Launch Control Systems, Launch Facilities and associated infrastructure.
What you will get to do:
The selected job candidate will be joining the Model Based - Requirements, Integration, and Architecture (MB-RIA) team. MB-RIA has opportunities to work in eleven different weapons system focus areas. This team is responsible for verification, architecture, and model governance of the GBSD weapon system. The requirements and verification portion of the team is responsible for system and segment requirements, requirements management and updates, and verification planning in a model-based systems engineering (MSBE) environment. This team will provide candidates the opportunity to integrate complex design elements across multiple Product Teams of the GBSD weapon system and work with all levels of the weapon system to ensure a comprehensive weapon system design.
The Weapon System Verification Development Lead is responsible for:
- Serve as the subject matter expert (SME) for weapon system model-based verification planning
- Lead a team of up to 15 multi-disciplined systems engineers to develop and integrate weapon system Requirement Verification Architecture Model (RVAM) products
- Ensure high quality RVAM product delivery against schedule
- Partner with model-based architecture SMEs to define and communicate programmatic RVAM governance
- Develop and maintain strong relationships across impacted product organizations (test, analysis, specialty engineering teams)
- Collect and present programmatic verification product status to customers counterparts and program leadership
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math)
- 14 Years of relevant work experience with bachelor’s in science; 12 Years with Masters; 9 Years with PhD
- At least 2 years of experience developing requirement verification products
- At least 2 years of experience developing products in a model-based system engineering (MBSE) environment (e.g. Cameo)
- At least 2 years leading a team of at least 6 engineers to drive performance against schedule
- Active DoD Secret Security Clearance investigated withing the last 6 years.
- Ability to obtain Special Program Access.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with ICBM programs or other DOD programs
- Active Top Secret Security Clearance
- Active Sentinel SAP access
- Experience executing to established verification plans (right side of systems engineering "V")
- Experience tracking work products in an agile work environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills

This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.

Salary Range: $142,500.00 - $213,700.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
