Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history.Northrop Grumman Space Systems Sector is seeking a Staff Supply Chain Planning Specialist for our Tactical Space Systems Division; the hired person will be responsible for measuring, analyzing and managing the performance of critical and non-critical suppliers to reduce cost, alleviate risk and drive continuous improvement. In addition, the Specialist shall be a lead for the integrated product team (IPT) for a given product line. The Specialist shall be accountable through the assigned Division Material Manager (DMM) to the program office for the schedule performance, failure resolution and business relations with his/her assigned suppliers. The Specialist will be responsible for the overall management of the performance of the assigned suppliers. The Specialist shall be responsible for the coordination of all internal matters in order to preclude redundant or ambiguous communication with, or direction to his/her assigned suppliers. This role is not warranted by the company to provide any contractual direction to the suppliers.
This is a hybrid role located in Dulles, VA. It should be commutable to Dulles, VA.
Job Description
Supplier Performance Management to ensure the supplier provides a quality product, delivers on time to the contractual need date, and tracks delivery of hardware from award through green tag. This position does not have a Delegation of Procurement Authority. Any and all contractual directions must be handled by the designated Subcontract Administrator.
Supplier Meetings: Will coordinate, attend and lead all Supplier Meetings as it relates to non-contractual direction.
Program Status: Responsible for providing weekly program status based on supplier’s components, including attending internal program status meetings. Subcontract Data Requirement List (SDRL) Management, includes tracking of due SDRLs from suppliers, receipt, disposition and communication of disposition with supplier.
Reviews Supplier’s Statement of Work (SOW) Development and Identification of alternative sources. SPS will have a knowledge of the market space for a given product line, including supplier fact finding trips and supplier capabilities assessment.
Supplier Scorecards: Responsible for providing quarterly supplier scorecards to suppliers, including discussions/mitigation plan for any late deliveries.
Coordinates with internal technical team to resolve supplier issues. Coordinates with Subcontract Administrator for any negotiations and/or contractual modifications. Key Performance Indicators: Responsible for Supplier On Time Delivery (OTD) metric.
Conducting onsite visits to global Northrop Grumman supplier sites based on business needs.
Lead process improvement initiatives within organization, including cross-functional processes
Assist in growing organizational capability in technical project management
Proposal strategy development in partnership with other functions
Develops and leads strategic supply chain plans and concepts independently and in partnership across functions – including implementing long-term agreements, alternative sourcing, cost savings.
Defines and develops material strategy.
Responsible for the assessment of supply resources; aggregates and prioritizes demand requirements; plans inventory, distribution requirements, production, material and rough-cut capacity for all products.
Participates in make/buy process, long-term capacity and resource planning; product phase-in/phase-out, manufacturing ramp-up, end-of-life management and product-line management.
Plans inventory levels based on dependent and independent Bill-of-Materials (BOM) requirements.
Assesses rough-cut capacity for current and short-term manufacturing requirements.
Creates/reduces supply requirements based on inventory adjustments. Participates in long-term capacity and resource planning to ensure proper scheduling of new product line phase-ins as well as existing product line phase-outs. Interfaces with Source process area regarding inventory levels, working capital and other areas as needed.
Receives/reviews requirements for non-standard parts. Analyzes lead times and identifies critical path procurements.

Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree and at least 12 years of supply chain, contracts, and/or supplier performance experience; or a Master’s degree and at least 10 years supply chain, contracts, and/or supplier performance experience. Four additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of the degree
Ability to travel at least 25% of time
Preferred Qualifications:
Aerospace industry experience
Experience with Key Performance Indicators
Experience with Supplier Scorecards
Experience in subcontract supplier management with proven results
