Systems Engineering Intern - Summer 2025

All interns will work directly alongside full-time engineers on real, engaging, and impactful projects, providing tangible value to Lunar Outpost products. This internship is a truly end-to-end experience that promotes collaboration in every stage of autonomous robotic development! 

 Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with requirements development, decomposition and traceability to ensure customer requirements are satisfied
• Assist with planning and execution of validation and verification for customer requirements
• Learn the systems engineering lifecycle through supporting technical teams in the development, documentation, building, testing, and verification of rover subsystems, payloads, and ground systems
• Support test plan development and creation in support of V&V activities
• Support other systems engineering tasks such as ConOps development, and interface definition between teams
• Support system and lower-level requirements management, including change control, audits, and coordination with other teams

 

Qualifications:

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and the ability to work methodically in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
• Can effectively demonstrate communication and interpersonal skills, while also excelling in collaboration and teamwork in an interdisciplinary environment
• Exhibits strong organizational and time management skills under pressure and in stressful situations
• Fueled by a passion for space exploration and the boundless possibilities beyond our world

 

Desired Qualifications:

• Familiarity with the Systems Engineering Process
• Understanding of fundamental test and evaluation processes 
  

 

Mid-May (May 19) to early August (August 8). Start and end dates are flexible with intern's school schedule. In-person, Monday - Friday in Arvada, Colorado.
