EchoStar has an exciting opportunity for an Entry Level Printed Circuit Board (PCB) Design Engineer in our Hughes Network Systems Division to join our ECAD team. This position will be located at our headquarters in Germantown, MD. At Hughes we are developing some of the largest and most powerful satellite and terrestrial IP-based communications systems in the world. We are the world's leading provider of broadband satellite services, products and managed network solutions for communities, enterprises, and governments. We need an engineering professional to help us achieve our vision and designing next generation circuit boards that will provide broadband connectivity everywhere.

Responsibilities:

• Design digital, analog, RF, and mixed signal circuit boards (PCB) using Cadence Allegro.
• Work closely with Mechanical, Electrical and Manufacturing Engineers to develop high quality reliable products.
• Generate documentation for manufacturing such as PCB and Assembly drawings, Gerber files, and Bill of Materials (BOM).
• Work with PCB vendors to select proper material, stack-up and impedance rules.
• Work with our in-house manufacturing to resolve DFM issues. 

Basic Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or closely related field.
• Coursework in Digital/Analog design.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Knowledge of circuit design and schematic capture.
• Familiar with High-Speed Circuit design techniques.
• Understand return path, power distribution, grounding, and signal integrity.
• Experience using ECAD tools to design circuit boards.
• Comprehend the IPC standards and guidelines.

Will be eligible for discretionary bonus, with funding based on company performance.
