EEEE parts engineers at Sierra Space ensure our cutting-edge electrical and electronic hardware meet the stringent requirements for successful space missions. This hardware covers a very wide range from advanced mission payloads and electronic systems through highly integrated aircraft to orbital and space exploration systems.

In this role, you will coordinate with program Design, Manufacturing, and Quality Engineering to implement the Parts Engineering process across multiple programs. You will evaluate compliance of flight hardware against established program requirements and help drive innovative solutions to complex hardware problems. You will also generate EEE part specifications, review manufacturer data packages and end-item data packages, and support failure analysis activities.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or other related discipline and typically 6 or more years of relevant experience

  • Relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of required education.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of engineering principles and practices

  • Understanding of Computer Aided Engineering tools

  • Experience working in multi-disciplinary design & development teams

  • The ability to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret U.S. Security Clearance is required


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience applying NASA, ESA, and DOD EEEE requirements and specifications

  • Familiarity with the development EEEE standards, specifications, source control drawings, and CONOPS for programs

  • Experience providing technical guidance to a diverse team of engineers on issues related to parts engineering

  • Familiarity with PLM and MRP/ERP systems

  • Familiarity with implementing the use of automotive grade parts in space hardware

  • Familiarity with the principles of radiation effects on EEEE parts

  • Experience with the development of macros, scripts, Visual Basic, JQL, or other programming languages to support data management and reporting efforts

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Physical/Mental/Emotional Requirements:

  • Frequently walk, sit, stand, climb stairs and steps

  • Frequently repeat same hand, arm, and finger motion many times to include finger and hand dexterity

  • Rarely lifting or carrying up to 20 lbs.

Working Conditions:

  • Rarely exposed to outdoor elements (high/low temperatures, sun, rain/snow, etc.)

  • Rarely exposed to fumes or hazardous chemicals/materials

  • Rarely exposed to loud noises

IMPORTANT NOTICE:

This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret U.S. Security Clearance. U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position needs an active U.S. Security Clearance for employment. Non-U.S. Citizens may not be eligible to obtain a security clearance.  The Department of Defense Consolidated Adjudications Facility (DoD CAF), a federal government agency, handles the adjudicative aspects of the security clearance eligibility process for industry applicants. Adjudicative factors which affect the outcome of the eligibility determination include, but are not limited to, allegiance to the U.S., foreign influence, foreign preference, criminal conduct, security violations and illegal drug use.

Sierra Space offers annual incentive pay based upon performance that is commensurate with the level of the position.

Estimated Starting Salary Range:

$104,827.91 - $144,138.39
