Job description

Our facilities department is here to maintain and enhance the manufacturing facilities, machines and equipment that support our goal of changing the world for good.

 

Responsibilities

  • Overall responsibility for overseeing the implementation of policies, procedures and projects that lead to well-managed, well-maintained facilities in coordination and conjunction with the company’s business objectives.
  • Oversee a preventative maintenance program to ensure the facility is operating optimally.
  • Hands on involvement to ensure the day-to-day operations of the facility(s), including janitorial, and general maintenance of mechanical and electrical systems (including lighting, HVAC, plumbing).
  • Supervision of all maintenance and janitorial contracts relating to the interior and appearance of the facilities.
  • Responsible for positive and prompt responses to requests from all departments and managing leased services to ensure problems are being solved promptly and effectively
  • Prepare and review budgets, provide financial reporting as needed, develop and manage contract terms, and monitor expenditures and purchase orders related to the facilities.
  • Negotiate service contracts with internal and external suppliers/customers to achieve optimal performance at the lowest cost, adhering to the organization’s values, standards, and business conduct guidelines.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance (including ITAR policy, CA building code, OSHA, ADA, etc.) and manage risk and liability for the company, maintaining files and policy documents to support audits.
  • Provide leadership and support to achieve the company’s service goals.
  • Consistently uphold and apply the company’s policies regarding professional behavior.
  • Lead the facility management team in supervising all maintenance programs related to the interior and exterior conditions, appearance, and operation of the facilities.
  • Ensure all site-specific documentation and reports are completed accurately and on time.
  • Ensure all suppliers comply with insurance requirements.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Technical proficiency and experience in common building systems and equipment.
  • College degree/professional qualification or proven equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of 12 years of facility operations experience, including at least 5 years at the level of Facility Manager.
  • Recognized Project Management qualification and/or proven experience in managing construction-based projects.
  • Knowledge and experience with preventative maintenance programs.
  • Knowledge and experience with financial accounting, reporting, and budgeting.
  • Ability to plan, organize, and coordinate multiple projects alongside day-to-day operations management.
  • Minimum of three years’ experience directly supervising and managing staff, including planning and assigning work, performance assessments, training, hiring, discipline, and development.
  • Excellent technical, interpersonal, and analytical skills.
  • Strong proficiency in MS Teams, Word and Excel.
  • Highly organized with strong time management skills.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written (reports/analysis) and oral (presentations).
  • Strong relationship-building and management skills, with experience working with multiple support contractors.
  • Positive “Can Do” attitude, willing to take on additional responsibilities and adapt to changes in a fast-paced environment.
  • Practical approach, leading by example, and happy to be hands-on and work closely with cross-functional teams.
  • Self-motivated, self-disciplined, and enjoys working independently as well as within a team.

 

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • CFM, FMA, BOMA, LEED industry certifications desired. Other engineering, business, or technical training/certifications are a plus.
  • Broad experience in construction, engineering, and all facets of building management.
  • Experience with the latest Trane BMS or equivalent, strongly desired

 

The annual U.S. base salary range for this full-time position is $85,900.00–$130,900.00. The base pay actually offered will vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, location, and experience and take into account internal equity. Other forms of pay (e.g., bonus or long term incentive) may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
