Summary:

The Production Expediter is responsible for maintaining schedules for material requirements and to ensure availability for the manufacture of industrial and commercial products to support production control.

Duties and Responsibilities:​ 

  • Compiles records concerning quantity, cost, and type of material received, shipped, in stock or inventory, and/or in production.
  • Expedites flow of materials, parts, and assemblies within or between departments in accordance with production and shipping schedules.
  • Assists in determining possible and actual shortages may initiate action to correct these deficiencies.
  • Uses knowledge of production, procurement, and engineering departments to alert proper authorities regarding potential problems and appropriate remedial action.
  • Estimates and logs production rate and time expenditures and may be required to establish sequence and lead time of each operation to meet shipping dates.
  • Tracks inventory levels and monitors inventory in WIP, On-Hold, MRB & In-Inspection locations.
  • Works with material planning toensure materials are ordered in time to support scheduling & operations.
  • Issues scrapped and obsolete material through MRP/ERP systems.

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent
  • At least 2 years additional education and/or related experience
  • Basic Math
  • Intermediate computer knowledge
  • Utilizes ERP & Electronic Work Instruction system to track parts through production to meet customer demand and set priorities for Work In Process (WIP)
  • Position requires 80% of time on shop floor coordinating and controlling product flow and 20% of time updating systems to ensure accurate records in systems
  • This position requires the ability to perform moderate strenuous physical and repetitious work to include: bending, stooping, kneeling, carrying tools, lifting up to 35 pounds and working overhead
  • US Citizen or Permanent Resident Card Holder.

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Experience with inventory and dispatch work order release systems such as NetSuite, Epicor, and Solumina
  • Use of office automation tools such as Microsoft Excel
