Commodity Management – Supply Chain Planning Specialist (Distribution/EEE):

Northrop Grumman Space Systems is looking for a Supply Chain Planning Specialist (Band 2) located in Linthicum, MD. The planner will be supporting the Commodity Management team for the Remote Sensing Programs Business Unit.  This position is instrumental in driving the supply base to provide consistently high-quality parts on schedule to support our customers. This role with be overseeing the Distribution Commodity.

This is a hybrid position and will require on-site presence in Linthicum, MD.

Position Summary / Responsibilities:

  • Perform Open Order Report (OOR) management to include dock dates, need dates, contract dates, using Material Requirements Planning (MRP) tools

  • Lead supplier issue management, prioritization, expediting

  • Create and maintain Production Readiness Reviews (PRR), Supplier Business Reviews (SBR), and assist with Enterprise Strategic/Sourcing Agreements (LTPA/LTSA)

  • Complete quarterly supplier assessments for critical and strategic suppliers (SAMS)

  • Assist with long-term capacity and resource planning; product phase-in/phase-out, manufacturing ramp-up, end of-life management

  • Collect supplier rough-cut capacity for current and short-term manufacturing requirements

  • Analyze lead times and identify critical path procurements

  • Report status to affected programs

  • Develop relationships with suppliers’ personnel for quick response

  • Ability to travel to supplier sites periodically (10%)

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 2 years of experience, Master’s degree with 0 years of experience in supply chain, contracts, business and/or related field.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Demonstrated leadership, critical thinking and innovative behaviors in past projects or roles

  • Proficiency in MS Office suite

  • Ability to obtain a TS/SCI clearance

Preferred qualifications:

  • TS/SCI clearance

  • Professional experience in a regulated industry; to include Aerospace & Defense, Insurance, Financial Services, Telecommunications

  • Supplier management experience

  • Demonstrated experience coaching, implementing change and driving results

  • Experience hosting executive level business/performance reviews

  • Knowledge of FAR/DFAR requirements

  • SAP proficiency

Salary Range: $68,800.00 - $103,200.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
