The DARKWING Program is seeking a highly motivated Network Engineer to join our team in Las Cruces, NM.
The successful candidate will spearhead efforts and serve as the prime interface to coordinate and perform program network efforts and activities at our customer site. The candidate should have an engineering background and be familiar with network design, network hardware procurement, network integration, and maintenance of network systems. The candidate must be experienced in troubleshooting network anomalies and failures. They must also be skilled in the set up and maintenance of network switches and routers, have experience with WAN\\LAN technologies; specifically, TCP/IP, LAN, and routing protocols, VPN, Firewall configuration and filtering. The candidate must have strong interpersonal and communication skills and is capable of successfully explaining procedures in writing or verbally.
While this is a day staff position, weekend/evening or call in work occasionally required supporting 24X7 operations or maintenance activities.
Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
Basic Qualifications:
o Knowledge and understanding of TCP/IP, LAN protocols
o Security+, Network+
o Experience with BGP and OSPF routing protocols
o Juniper Switches
o TS/SCI with adjudicated CI Poly
Desired Skills:
• Working knowledge of Data Centers
• Layer 2 and Layer 3 VLANS
• Experience with Windows, LINUX, DNS, DHCP
• Recent hands-on experience in the areas of network integration, verification, and validation of large, complex systems into enterprise infrastructures
• Capable of representing ES2 in meetings to provide status of action items and issues
• Skills related to network design, diagnostics and optimization
• Knowledge of system engineering processes
• Subnets
• Troubleshooting network anomalies and failures
• Experience in planning of network system development activities
• Knowledge of configuration management methods and practices
• Applicant must be detailed oriented and have strong written, oral, and analytical skills
• Ability to work independently or within a team environment
• Ability to work as part of a team to review/refine/execute project activities
• Good communications and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work well with customers
