About The Role: 

We are seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to join our team, supporting the OMES III (Omnibus Multidiscipline Engineering Services III) contract in Greenbelt, Maryland. This contract focuses on providing engineering services to support the Goddard Space Flight Center's (GSFC) missions and projects, including the development of flight and ground systems for space missions. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Lead the systems engineering efforts for projects under the OMES III contract, ensuring that all systems are designed, developed, and integrated according to mission requirements.
  • Oversee the integration and testing of flight and ground systems, ensuring that all components work together seamlessly and meet project specifications.
  • Develop and manage system requirements, ensuring that they are clearly defined, traceable, and verified throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure the successful completion of projects.
  • Create and maintain detailed technical documentation, including system specifications, test plans, and integration procedures.
  • Work closely with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders to ensure that all project objectives are met on time and within budget.
  • Provide technical expertise in diagnosing and resolving system issues that arise during integration and testing.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of engineering processes and best practices within the team.

Qualifications: 

  • Minimum of 15+ years of experience in systems engineering, with a focus on space systems, integration, and testing.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Strong background in the design, development, and integration of complex space systems, including both flight and ground systems.
  • Extensive experience in integration and testing, with a proven track record of successful project execution.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to addressing technical challenges.
