Job description

The Senior Network Security Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing advanced network security solutions to safeguard our organization’s assets. This role involves leading security initiatives, managing complex security projects, and providing expert guidance on network security strategies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Network Security Design: Develop and implement network security architectures and policies to protect against threats and vulnerabilities.
  • Incident Response: Lead and manage responses to security incidents, including investigation, mitigation, and reporting.
  • Threat Management: Monitor and analyze network traffic and security alerts to identify and address potential threats.
  • Vulnerability Assessment: Conduct regular security assessments and vulnerability scans to identify and remediate network weaknesses.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant security standards, regulations, and best practices (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001).
  • Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation of security configurations, policies, and incident responses.
  • Collaboration: Work with IT and development teams to integrate security measures into network and system designs.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Network Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in network security or related roles, with a proven track record of managing network security infrastructure.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency with network security tools and technologies (e.g., firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs, and SIEM systems).
  • Network Protocols: Strong understanding of network protocols and technologies (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/S).
  • Incident Response: Experience with incident response, including detection, analysis, and remediation of security incidents.
  • Certifications: Relevant network security certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CEH).
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to address complex security issues.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Education: Master’s degree in Information Security, Network Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience: 7+ years of experience in network security, with experience in designing and managing complex security infrastructures.
  • Advanced Skills: Expertise in advanced network security techniques, including threat hunting, penetration testing, and advanced persistent threat (APT) detection.
  • Cloud Security: Experience with cloud security platforms and technologies (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
  • Certifications: Advanced certifications (e.g., CISSP-ISSEP, AWS Certified Security – Specialty, Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA)).
  • Industry Experience: Experience in aerospace or technology sectors, particularly with high-security and mission-critical systems.
ITAR Requirements: 
  • This position may include access to technology and/or software source code that is subject to U.S. export controls. To conform to U.S. Government export regulations, applicant must be a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful, permanent resident (aka green card holder), (iii) Refugee under 8 U.S.C. § 1157, or (iv) Asylee under 8 U.S.C. § 1158,  or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
