Job Description

In this role, the qualified candidate(s) will become part of the Systems Performance, Estimation, and Algorithms Department (SPEAD) assisting modeling and simulation.

What You'll Be Doing:

Algorithm assessment and development
Predictive error vs actual errors assessment from large scale simulation outputs
Feature identification and extraction from noisy, unstable image datasets
Participates with an interdisciplinary team in ongoing research or technical programs with academic collaboration partners.
Applies standard techniques and procedures to carry out a series of prescribed scientific and/or engineering tasks.
Training and mentorship will be provided.

Graduate Intern Requirements- What You Need to be Successful:

Minimum Requirements:

Applying to or currently enrolled fulltime in an accredited college/university program pursuing a Master's or Ph.D. degree in physics, applied mathematics, engineering or related discipline
Completion of Bachelor's degree prior to internship start date
Minimum GPA 3.0
Experience programming in C, C++ or JAVA
This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance. U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.

How You Can Stand Out:

It would be impressive if you have one or more of these:

GPA 3.5 or higher
Active security clearance
Experience in developing and delivering presentations, leading small groups, etc.
Experience in working in an autonomous work environment on complex projects
Software design, development, unit testing and integration experience
Practice robust statistics and decision logics
Rudimentary knowledge of Image Processing

We offer a competitive compensation package where you’ll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to our business. The grade-based pay range for this job is listed below. Individual salaries within that range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge and skills.
