At SpaceWorks Enterprises, we specialize in design and development of next-generation high-speed flight systems, human and robotic spacecraft, and entry, descent, & landing technologies. Our core competencies include conducting preliminary design of aerospace concepts, performing detailed multidisciplinary engineering analysis, developing commercial aerospace software, prototyping spacecraft hardware components, and conducting market and economic research within the aerospace industry. We serve clients from the Department of Defense, NASA, and the commercial space sector.


SpaceWorks is seeking an experienced technical capture manager to drive the growth of our aerospace systems and products. A Capture Manager will interact directly with the customers we serve, write proposals and develop quotes to win new business, move our R&D projects toward production/sales, and drive our company's vision of growth.


This position is full time and located in Atlanta, GA.


A successful candidate will:


  • Capture new business opportunities, being outward facing while driving our aerospace products and brand
  • Ambitiously propel our business toward sustainable market growth using our corporate and private R&D investments
  • Exhibit a "can do" and "want to" attitude - always willing to take on a new challenge while staying flexible to the ever changing space industry
  • Demonstrate fundamental understanding of a broad range of aerospace disciplines and their interactions including flight mechanics, structures, propulsion, flight software, thermal management, and electronics


A DAY IN THE LIFE


  • Serve as the capture manager for technical input and story creation. Identify relevant technical expertise to draft white paper, BAA, RFI, and RFP responses.
  • Develop and maintain relevant product roadmaps with direct input and alignment from engineering and executive leadership.
  • Travel to support industry day briefings, technical conferences, and customer visits.
  • Maintain market acuity regarding competitors, partners, and relevant technologies to inform the product roadmaps.
  • Own the drafting of Statements of Work (SOW), scope for proposals, and schedule development.
  • Act as the primary interface with customers, serving as the main point-of-contact for existing contracts to develop/leverage relationships that create opportunities for increased scope and revenue generation.
  • Develop strategic relationships and partnerships across the aerospace industry to improve product offerings and Pwin rates.

            WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR


            • Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred
            • Minimum of 4 years of experience in product/program management in the aerospace industry (ideally with a small business)
            • Proven track record of successfully writing proposals and managing awarded contracts
            • Knowledge of product/program management best practices, including risk management, earned value management, and project scheduling tools
              • Familiarity with U.S. Government contracting and funding opportunities
              • Must be a U.S. citizen and be immediately eligible to obtain a DoD Secret Security Clearance


              SKILLS & SOFTWARE


              • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with customers and suppliers effectively
              • Strategic thinker with the ability to anticipate market trends, drive product innovation, and demonstrate technical leadership skills
              • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary, collaborative environment typical of a small business 
              • Desire to lead and manage individual contributors
              • Strong written and verbal communications skills
              • Expertise with Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
              • Proficiency with Microsoft Project

              • Program Management Professional (PMP) certification
              • Earned Value Management System (EVMS) experience
              • Fundamental understanding of a broad range of aerospace disciplines and their interactions including flight mechanics, structures, propulsion, flight software, thermal management, and electronics
              • Skills and experience supporting and/or managing aerospace hardware development efforts
              • Familiarity with U.S. Government contracting and funding opportunities
