IT Operations Manager

EchoStar has an exciting opportunity for an IT Operations Manager in our Hughes Network Systems division. This role will oversee the maintenance, support, and optimization of the organization's on-prem and cloud infrastructure, ensuring reliable operations and performance. This position will be located at our headquarters in Germantown, MD.

Responsibilities:

• Manage a team of IT professionals, coordinate with other departments, and implement strategies to improve system efficiency and security
• Oversee the day-to-day operations of IT systems, ensuring reliability and availability of services to support the business.
• Maintain and update all IT OPS NOC Policies, Processes, and Procedures
  • Includes all physical device details
  • Includes all archive processes
  • Includes all cabling management
  • Includes all local and remote data centers and IT closets
• Ensure compliance with IT security policies and procedures, conducting regular audits and coordinating with the security team to address vulnerabilities and risks.
• Manages 24x7 IT network operations center (ITOPSNOC), which monitors infrastructure performance and availability and alerts to notify engineers of resource issues
• Be able to act as the IT Incident Manager for all IT critical incidents
• Maintain an update all KPI reporting processes and monthly reports
• Maintain all change request maintenance mode/alerting activity
• Maintain priority initiative list and status for weekly meetings
• Maintain and review all site air and power conditioning systems (HVAC, UPS, etc.)
• Manage installations, upgrades and configurations of hardware and software
• Resolve issues escalated by technicians and engineers
• Ensure data is handled, transferred, or processed according to legal and company guidelines
• Provide support and guidance to stakeholders

Basic Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in information systems, engineering or related field
• 5-7 years of experience in IT
• Previous experience conveying complex ideas to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications:

• Understand technology trends, architectures, and tools to make informed decisions and communicate with other technology teams
• Able to set clear vision, motivate team, foster collaboration, and inspire those on your team to be successful in everything they do
• Understand the organization’s industry to ensure and aid in making strategic decisions
• Ability to analyze the problems, identify solutions, and make informed decisions
• Embrace change, stay updated on technology advances and adapt strategies accordingly
• Ability to allocate resources, manage timelines, and ensure successful delivery

Will be eligible for discretionary bonus, with funding based on company performance.
