Role: Sr. Embedded Linux Engineer

Employment Type: Full Time

Educational Qualification: Bachelor’s or higher degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent

Work Experience: 6+ yrs

Role Description:
Pixxel is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Sr. Embedded Linux Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will drive Pixxel satellite’s embedded software from concept to production while ensuring that they meet the required standards. This role requires a strong understanding of the embedded systems.

Responsibilities & Duties: 

• Closely collaborate with systems engineers to define the specifications, lead the software design/implementation, and integrate/validate software in a larger system.
• Mentor/coach engineers in the team to drive outcomes
• Translate mission requirements and various satellite subsystem requirements into reliable flight software for Pixxel’s satellites.

 

Desirable Skills :

• 6+ years of hands-on software design and development experience on complex embedded computing platforms and peripherals in safety/mission-critical products
• Strong in C/C++ programming, data structures and algorithms
• Strong knowledge of RTOS/Linux and ARM/RISC-V processor architecture
• Hands-on experience in designing and debugging user and kernel space drivers
• Experience with Build tools, BSPs, bootloaders, writing peripheral drivers, and memory management
• Good debugging skills using Software/Hardware debuggers. 
• Experience with CI/ID and using version control software (preferably Git).
• Knowledge or experience in any of the following is a plus
  • Xilinx Zynq systems
  • Yocto
  • FPGA development experience
  • Experience working with safety or mission-critical standards (ECSS/ISO26262/DO-178).
  • Static analyzers and formal verification tools
• Motivated self-starter with good communication and organizational skills, with demonstrated ability to develop and deliver superior products in a cross-functional team environment
