Job description

The Sr. Benefits Analyst will support the administration of employee benefit programs, including health and welfare, wellness, retirement, time off, and leaves of absence. Quality management of benefits-related processes and data for an overall elevated employee experience.

 

Responsibilities

  • Creates and maintains strong relationships with third-party administrators to ensure accurate handling and support of employee inquiries.
  • Coordinates with third party leave administrator and internal stakeholders to support leave of absence requests, extensions, and disability filings to ensure timeliness and legal compliance.
  • Provides updates to the third-party administrators on changes to plans, programs and resource documents.
  • Conducts the benefits portion of New Hire Orientation, educating employees on our plans and instructions for enrollment.
  • Supports annual Open Enrollment, conducting employee information sessions, and answering questions.
  • Provide ongoing support to develop and champion wellness program and other onsite benefits and wellness events.
  • Manage benefits systems and online enrollment system process for all benefit plans which includes designing and maintaining automated file feeds, troubleshooting errors and problem resolution.
  • May serve as project manager for new initiatives and implementation of new plans/programs, escalating as needed to the Benefits Manager.
  • Identifies opportunities for automation and streamlining operations to improve the employee experience.
  • Consults with team to identify, plan, and develop methods and procedures to obtain greater efficiency and effectiveness of benefit programs.
  • Coordinates with carriers and vendors on escalated cases and claims.
  • Reviews and audits benefits monthly invoicing for accuracy, timely payment, and reporting.
  • Conducts periodic payroll reconciliation for coverage levels and deductions.
  • Performs quality checks and audits of benefits-related data.
  • Prepares benefits census and audit reports.
  • Managing and responding to Benefits Inbox and JIRA tickets.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
     

Required Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • 5+ years employee benefits experience, with a thorough understanding and knowledge of employee benefits.
  • Must have a strong knowledge and understanding of regulations and compliance requirements across applicable federal, state and local regulations such as ERISA, ACA, HIPAA, and COBRA
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
  • Experience with supporting multiple benefits plans that include retirement, health, medical, dental, vision, life, etc.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to inform employees about their benefit options and how to enroll.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Strong customer service focus, interpersonal skills, and attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Knowledge of leave of absence laws and processes, including California leave laws.
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including advanced knowledge of Excel.
  • Proficient with HR systems, including benefits and payroll systems.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
     

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field of study.
  • Experience with ADP Workforce Now.
  • Experience with SAP SuccessFactors.

The annual U.S. base salary range for this full-time position is $79,300.00–$121,000.00. The base pay actually offered will vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, location, and experience and take into account internal equity. Other forms of pay (e.g., bonus or long term incentive) may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
