We have a current opportunity for a Document Control Specialist to join our growing team in Goleta, CA. This role will implement and enforce a variety of specialized document control / configuration control functions to ensure the accurate and timely receipt, storage and release of records and drawings. The role will also provide administrative support for Engineering.
 
Summary
Works under general direction to perform a variety of document control and administrative support duties; follows established policies, procedures and guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Primary job functions typically require the exercising of independent judgment and decision making. Apply knowledge and understanding of the field's concepts, practices, and principles to develop solutions to problems of moderate scope and complexity.
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned to meet business needs.
  • Collects and maintains files of the latest revision level documentation used to define product configuration and control manufacturing processes, including engineering drawings and procedures
  • Distributes latest revision level documentation to all appropriate users and ensures that obsolete documentation is removed from distribution
  • Reviews documents for accuracy and conformance to written standards
  • Releases new and revised documents to a document-controlled library and notifies departments of change effectivity
  • Works cross functionally with engineering, quality, supply chain and production teams to meet document delivery dates
  • Participates in internal and external ISO audits related to ensure document control and configuration management standards are met
  • Work closely with internal experts in iTAR and Export control to ensure internal compliance in distribution of documents
  • Demonstrates continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality internal and external customer service
  • Enters and manages controlled information in an ERP system
  • Provide administrative support for Engineering Data Entry, Information Management, Product Development Databases, ERP Systems, planning tools, best practices, and standards
  • Performs other related duties as assigned
  • Will need your own transportation to traverse multiple Goleta facilities to distribute documents
  • Ability to sit for prolonged periods at a desk and working on a computer
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds at times
 Ideal Experience:
  • 2+ years of administrative support experience working with technical documents, work procedures and quality specifications
  • Experience administering and managing documents 
  • Fluent in Microsoft Office, and Adobe Acrobat tools
 Desired Skills:
  • Experience in engineering, quality and/or production in a manufacturing environment will be preferred; experience with document management systems desirable
  • Experience with SolidWorks CAD software
  • Advanced Excel user, able to export data sets and post-process data using scripts or macros for department metrics, budget, labor resources, etc.
  • Associate’s Degree or Bachelor’s Degree preferred, with a combination of education, training and experience sufficient to demonstrate the ability to perform the essential functions of the job

Pay Range
$33.50 - $40.00/hr.

Redwire determines pay for positions using local, national, and industry-specific survey data, for our locations throughout the US. We will evaluate external equity and the cost of labor/prevailing wage index, in the relative marketplace for jobs directly comparable to jobs within our company.
For new hires, we strive to make competitive offers allowing the new employee room for future growth.  Salaries will be based on the applicant’s level of experience, education, and specialized knowledge and skills. Additionally, we consider the external market rate, the amount we have budgeted internally, and internal equity within the company for the same position. An employee/candidate with a stronger skill set will receive higher pay.
