We’re on the hunt for a Micro-Electromechanical Assembler on our Satellite systems team at our Montreal office.

 

The Position: 

The main role consists of performing assembly of micro-electromechanical products according to structured work processes. Some analysis is required before independently choosing from known processes.

Responsibilities:

  • Solder on the substrate, select the substrate, and measure electrical components.
  • Perform electric joints and contacts with welded wires or ribbons (microwiring, parallel welding and beam leads).
  • Affix substrates on a base or box using a pre-programmed oven.
  • Mount components to a base or circuit.
  • Prepare components for encapsulation.
  • Prepare, handle and use polymeric products to bond components.
  • Proceed with sealing and leak tests for boxes.
  • Use equipment for hybrid sorting.
  • Proceed with the assembly of elements in the boxes.
  • Check the product.
  • Inspect, check and validate compliance of certain tasks done by colleagues.
  • Support Research and Development
  • All other related tasks

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • High school diploma, college diploma or diploma of vocational studies in one of the following fields: electronics, mechanics or equivalent
  • Two (2) to Five (5) years of relevant experience
  • Basic knowledge of English is an asset
  • Plan Reading.
  • Basic knowledge of the principle of tolerances and geometrical dimensions.
  • Ability to recover and enter data with a computer system.
  • Use of production databases.
  • The candidate has the basic knowledge to operate one or several manual or semi-automatic equipment for microelectronic assembly.
  • Good knowledge of French
  • Fine manual dexterity
  • Ability to work with a microscope
