About the role?   

To support the company’s growth, we are looking for a (Sr) Program Manager to join our global Satellite Missions and Data program delivery team based in Greece to deliver a greek satellite mission and data delivery program.  

The program will be for Greece but delivered through ESA. The program is required to establish a satellite build and operations facility and then deliver a satellite mission. This role will be responsible for managing the customer interface  and overseeing the planning, implementation, and tracking of the program activities assigned to them from initiation to completion. You will work closely with cross-functional teams (e.g., sales, product management, engineering, operations, etc.) to ensure the effective coordination and alignment of program objectives with business goals. 

The ideal candidate possesses strong leadership and communication skills, exceptional organizational abilities, and a proven track record of managing large-scale programs and challenging requirements. 

The role will be based in Greece [Athens] and will require either someone who is already based in Greece or willing to relocate to Greece.

Responsibilities 

  • Lead 1-2 projects (s) to enable the delivery of the Satellite Mission and Data program to a customer
  • Developing and maintaining an effective customer relationship as the principal program manager in country
  • Establish program goals, deliverables and success criteria in collaboration with stakeholders
  • Develop and maintain program plans, schedules, budgets, and resource allocations. 
  • Build and lead high-performing program teams in an internal matrix organization and/or with external agencies, providing clear direction, guidance, and support. 
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure program success and satisfy reporting requirements (e.g. financial)
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of program management best practices, methodologies, and frameworks. 
  • Identify and assess program risks, dependencies, and critical path activities. Proactively anticipate and address issues that may impact program timelines, budget, or quality. 
  • Facilitate and remedy customer escalations of issues and complaints
  • Establish effective reporting structure and communication channels and mechanisms to ensure timely and accurate information flow among program team members, stakeholders, and senior leadership. 

Requirements

Required qualifications 

  • Greek speaker to a native level 
  • Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or a related field
  • 5-10 years of experience in project or program management, with a proven track record of successful delivery of large programs involving complex systems and technology (e.g., Space, IT, telecom, defence, aerospace, automotive, automation, etc.)
  • Proven track record in leading and managing cross-functional teams
  • Proven customer management skills
  • Strong leadership and management skills
  • excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage a project team and communicate effectively with both customers and company stakeholders
  • Ability to inspire and motivate team members
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to identify and mitigate program risks and issues
  • Excellent knowledge of program management processes, tools and techniques
  • Attention to detail 

Preferred qualifications:

  • knowledge about EO & SAR and/or experience with remote sensing programs and products
  • Experience of working with ESA projects, or experience of working with a similar customer 
  • Master's degree in business, engineering, or a related field
  • Experience from product development within a complex system
  • Knowledge of physics, hardware and/or software design
  • Track record in change management
  • Knowledge and experience with embedded systems
  • Project or program management for governmental buyers of technology
  • Relevant certifications such as PMP (Project Management Professional) or PgMP (Program Management Professional) etc.
