Information Systems and Cyber Division (ISCD) staff couple the latest in information system technologies, such as elastic compute clouds, containerization, microservices, real-time operating systems, and visualization frameworks, with expertise in cyber security, software architecture, software engineering, data science, Artificial Intelligence, process improvement, and software development to deliver responsive, resilient, high-performance software intensive systems to our IC, DoD, and civilian customers.

Aerospace's Cyber Security and Advanced Platforms Subdivision, Advanced Cryptographic Capabilities Section is seeking a Cyber Security/Crypto Engineer to help design, implement, assess and deploy cyber and crypto solutions that defend our nation's most valuable assets in space. We are seeking a highly motivated Cyber Security/Crypto Engineering Specialist (Engineering Specialist - Cyber Security Architecture and Information Systems Security) with a desire to support customers across a full spectrum of cyber security and crypto activities.

This is a full-time position based in El Segundo, CA offering a hybrid work model that combines 3 regular onsite workdays and remote flexibility as the business needs allow. 

What You’ll Be Doing

• Provide direct engineering support to Space Systems Command, Chief, Information Officer and Space Systems Integration Office, Cryptographic Modernization Office
• Development, analysis, and the implementation of cryptographic and cybersecurity requirements for space programs
• Advise government customers and their program contractors on cryptographic capability design and implementation
• Perform research in the areas of cyber, crypto and network security
• Identifying and mitigating risks in the implementation or certification of cryptography and other cyber solutions for space systems.
• Developing security risk assessments and completing other systems engineering tasks as assigned
• Support the development of space mesh network and key management architectures
• Provide recommendations on network architectures and solutions based on technical performance evaluations
• Contribute to the development of security and crypto prototypes

What You Need to be Successful Engineering Specialist - Cyber Security Architecture and Information Systems Security)

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelors degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Science, Cybersecurity or similar technical area of study
• 8 or more years of relevant experience in a position related to cybersecurity or crypto
• Experience writing or satisfying engineering requirements and design specifications
• Experience with assessments or systems engineering / architecting of cybersecurity solutions or cryptographic products
• This position requires a current TS security clearance with SCI eligibility, which is issued by the US Government. U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.
• Knowledge and/or experience performing vulnerability assessment and mitigation
• Network engineering and architecture knowledge (TCP/IP, IPSEC, HTTP/S, routing protocols)
• Willing to travel approximately 10% of the time

• Demonstrable history of contribution to cyber assessments, prototype development and/or cyber research

• Accredited Advanced degree or certificate in information systems security or equivalent program
• Direct support or leading cryptographic certification efforts
• Track record in designing and integrating crypto solutions for satellites
• Experience with space acquisition policies, processes, and/or budgeting
• Work with diverse space systems and missions
• 10 years of experience in Information Technology or Cybersecurity

We offer a competitive compensation package where you’ll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to our business.  The grade-based pay range for this job is listed below.  Individual salaries within that range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge and skills.
