About The Position
We are seeking an experienced Communications Specialist to join our Marketing and Communication department. The candidate has experience shooting videos, taking pictures, and communicating. Ideal candidates will likely come from the aerospace sector or news multimedia journalism field. Communications tasks include managing more than 100+ vendors with products enabling Intuitive Machines’ second lunar mission. Vendors receive content packages, communications guides, and other assistance that promotes their relationship with our lunar program. Customers can also include Internal communications to talent and workforce, prioritizing transparency, creating content, copywriting, etc around cross functional departments.
Responsibilities:
Mission and Event Communications:
- Plan, coordinate, direct, and implement mission-related communications.
- Support company missions and live broadcasts of mission events from mission control.
- Coordinate and shoot b-roll opportunities for lunar program operations.
- Develop and implement activities for events, launches, special projects, high-level visits, tours, outreach, and engagement.
Strategic Communications and Public Relations:
- Provide strategic communications support for programs, projects, and public company matters.
- Plan and execute comprehensive public affairs campaigns to enhance understanding of the company’s programs among the general public and specialized groups.
- Establish and maintain relations with major national and global media; serve as a spokesperson when necessary.
- Assist with various marketing and outreach programs supporting civil and commercial payload customers and brand partners.
Additional Duties:
- Present and contribute original ideas and production techniques to both internal and external partners.
- Foster a culture of engagement, diversity, inclusiveness, excellence, and dedication.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Education: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Journalism or related field preferred; high school diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience: Minimum 3 years of related experience; at least 1 year of aerospace work experience preferred.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills; experience with customer service and client communications.
- Copywriting experience
- Public Affairs experience in a DOD/Space Environment
- Computer Skills: 3+ years experience, advanced MS Office skills, including Excel and MS Outlook.
- Organization: Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment; professional interaction with customers and colleagues; ability to anticipate work needs.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Direct work managing Internal & External Communication campaigns in a Space domain.
- Experience directing and switching a live stream broadcast.
