Position Purpose: The Director of Component Technology will be responsible for providing leadership and supervision in a team environment, with frequent opportunities for customer engagement, new business development, concept design, roadmap planning and maintenance, and R&D program oversight.

Pay Range: $150,000 - $281,000
(Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)

Job Responsibilities:
- Overall responsibility for BCT’s component technology, with external and internal customers.
- Provides oversight to ensure technical development and performance of BCT components.
- Ability to effectively communicate with company Executive Leadership and manage multiple project teams of employees from multidisciplined engineering, manufacturing, and business support functions
- Develops standards for requirements, design documentation, including product specification, ICD, users guide, EIDP format, verification matrix.
- Develops standards for qualification and acceptance testing of each product.
- Oversees and guides reviews, including PDR/CDR/peer reviews
- Develop and communicate a clear product strategy and roadmap for components products that aligns with the company's vision and objectives.
- Oversee performance, development and mentoring of the Components Engineering team
- Other responsibilities as assigned.
Required Qualifications/Education:
- 10+ years of experience on spacecraft component design.
- Engineering degree in aerospace, mechanical, electrical, or similar field.
- Demonstrated ability to develop $1M+ spacecraft components.
- Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education.
- Must have a deep technical understanding of spacecraft components, including but not limited to:
- Reaction Wheels
- CMG’s
- Star Trackers
- Sun Sensor
- Software Defined Radios
- Antenna
- Batteries
- Solar Array Drive Assembly
- XACT cubesat attitude control unit
- Flexcore microsat attitude control unit
- Gimbal
- Torque Rods
Working Conditions:
This job operates in a professional office environment, but in a manufacturing company.
