Job description
Duties
- Serves as a liaison and collaborates with the Office of Chief Information Officer (OCIO) and Office of Protective Services (OPS) to identify network security problems, variables and unknowns.
- Presents information regarding network security problems, variables and unknowns to Space Communications and Navigation (SCaN) leadership and external stakeholders.
- Oversees and evaluates assessments for SCaN networks to advocate for funding, determine vulnerabilities and identify lessons learned for future improvement.
- Evaluates regulations and requirements provided by external and internal organizations to determine application to mission networks and integration to hardware and software.
- Provides quality assurance of security documentations and System Security Plans for all SCaN networks for consistency, including updating the SCaN Security Management Plan and the SCaN Common Control Package as needed.
- Collaborates with internal (OCIO and OPS) and external stakeholders on Cloud Security and Requirements for SCaN networks and review all Interconnection Security Agreements within SCaN portfolio for consistency and mission applicability.
- Provides guidance and information received from internal and external organizations regarding security outreach/education initiatives for SCaN personnel regarding security requirements, SBU/data protection, and cloud requirements.
- Identifies risks to the schedule or design that may impact mission network support, devise contingency plans to mitigate risks, and lead troubleshooting efforts, and review risk based decisions and plans of actions.

Qualifications
To qualify for GS-15, you must have one year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 level:
- Developing and implementing policies, processes, and procedures in response to physical and network security regulations and directives;
- Applying project management principles and practices to lead space communications programs and projects; and
- Initiating and overseeing risk and vulnerability assessments, and program evaluation to ensure network integrity and effectiveness.
