During that time, our innovative team has been designing and manufacturing mission-critical, high reliability optical sensors for satellites providing guidance, navigation, situational awareness, and control capabilities. Summary
We have a current opportunity for a Sr. Manufacturing Engineer located at our facility in Marlborough, MA. In this role you will be supporting our Optical, Electronic, and Mechanical Assembly department and playing a key role in developing processes that will enable our future growth.
 
Responsibilities
  • Create detailed Manufacturing Plans in TIP SFE.
  • Support the transition of products from development to manufacturing. Define and support the development of manufacturing processes. Collaborate with manufacturing stake holders
  • Collaborate with Design Engineering to create, enhance and revise documentation with the goal of creating simple commonly understood documents that help to ensure successful / repeatable production
  • Design and validate assembly tooling
  • Play an active role in the development of assembly staff and work with management to resolve skill gaps
  • Assists in coordinating assembly workflow and helps to ensure department goals are achieved
  • Promotes a positive and professional work environment
  • Enables our growth path through optimizing processes while meeting our quality requirements
Ideal Experience
  • BS/MS Degree in Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline
  • 5+ years’ relevant Manufacturing Engineering experience in an Aerospace, Avionics, or Military production environment.
  • Strong ERP knowledge with a focus on Part Masters, BOM’s and Routings
  • Demonstrated problem solving experience
  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the US
Desired Skills
  • Prior experience using Costpoint and or TIP SFE
  • Knowledge/experience working with electrical components and systems
  • Knowledge/experience with soldering
  • Strong MS Office skills
  • Experience with mechanical or electrical CAD
  • Self-driven, capable of taking ownership of complex problems and working with a team
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of AS9100 policies / requirements
