Position Description:

Working at NASA’s Huntsville Operations Support Center (HOSC) the Systems Analyst will provide ground system support services for the International Space Station Payload Operations Center, Space Launch System Engineering Support Center, and other NASA programs.

The individual selected must be willing and able to work all shifts. The individual selected will be expected to work weekends and holidays that fall during her/his scheduled work week.

Responsibilities: 

• Responsible for configuring, monitoring, and recovering critical ground systems services including data processing, command/control, and voice systems required for real-time operational control of the International Space Station and support of scientists and payload developers world-wide.
• Monitors, controls, manipulates, and restores mission critical systems in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, including telemetry receipt, routing and archival; payload commanding; voice/video distribution; and configuration management systems.
• Assists users world-wide in the resolution of computer resource related problems including web applications that access local servers.
• Assists in the development of policies and procedures controlling all activities in the Huntsville Operations Support Center (HOSC). 
  1. Implement emergency and contingency procedures, 
  2. Coordinate resources necessary for proper operation of the HOSC facility, (power, air conditioning, etc.), 
  3. Support/enforce security procedures
• Provide system administration services which include account maintenance, system accounting data collection and review, user profile administration, reviewing system logs, performance monitoring, and file maintenance and disk management.
• Participated, coordinated, tested, troubleshot, created procedures dealing with various SLS (Space Launch Systems) activities
• Resolves critical service outages while working with a team of up to 10 analysts and engineers.

Requirements: 

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field
• 1 or more years of experience with systems support
• MUST be able to work second or third shift, weekends and holidays

Salary Range: $40,000 - $50,000/year
