IT OPERATIONS MANAGER

As Manager of the Operations and Systems Delivery (OSD) team you will be responsible for leading a team of technicians to provide support for ABL's end-user computing devices, including workstations, mobile devices, MFPs, and more. The scope of infrastructure and technologies that you support can range from conference room AV systems to launch systems that control and support launch vehicles.  As a manager, you will be responsible for administrative, operational, and project leadership of the team. Your success will rely on your ability to build a reliable team, provide leadership and coaching, and clearly understand the needs of the organization. You have a positive attitude and know how to find creative ways to meet the needs of your customers. You enjoy project management, building process and knowledge documentation, and mentoring staff to drive continuous improvement.  We are looking for manager who sees the big picture with technology, is a confident leader, can work effectively in a fast-paced environment, and has superb communication skills. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead the OSD team, providing operational management of performance, workload, scheduling and task completion. 
  • Manage ticketing queue of Incidents, service requests, and project requests to assure timely resolution. 
  • Work with IT Director to develop, implement and oversee policies and procedures to ensure consistent service levels. 
  • Manage administrative functions of the team including hiring, performance reviews and timecard management. 
  • Coach staff to improve performance and guide career growth. 
  • Acts as a liaison to other departments to assist with IT needs, provide status updates on major projects or initiatives. 
  • Work independently with vendors to provide services or resolve issues with third-party systems. 
  • Manage communications around unplanned outages to keep users and technical stakeholders regularly updated. 
  • Own workstation-related tasks for technical projects and delegate tasks appropriately. 
  • Maintain accurate documentation on technology architecture and internal team processes. 
  • Lead OSD team projects and technology implementation. 
  • Participate in Technology team on-call rotation.  

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field  
  • 7+ years of experience in supporting computer endpoints In an enterprise environment 
  • 2+ years of managing or leading a team of support technicians.

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Strong proficiency supporting Windows, Mac and IOS devices 
  • Experience managing Active Directory and M365 services. 
  • Excellent sense of customer service and written/verbal communication. 
  • Strong experience with training, coaching and developing IT technicians 
  • Ability to travel (up to 20%)
  • Relevant industry certifications 
  • Linux OS experience 
  • Experience developing ITIL-based processes for an IT organization 

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. safely
  • Ability to use a computer to complete assignments
  • Ability to communicate with individuals and groups in person, by phone and telepresence
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee will typically work in an office environment
