We are seeking a talented and experienced Database Analyst to join our team.

Responsibilities:

• Configuration and deployment of database servers
• Design, development, and deployment of databases
• Ensure data integrity and retention
• Configure and monitor daily and weekly backup processes
• Configure and monitor streaming replication ensuring integrity of replicated/standby servers
• Support team members who access databases, including teaching introductory and advanced classes
• Participate in and support software and process development efforts
• Prepare ESRI-compliant shapefiles and other data products for release to the NASA Planetary Data System

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (Master's degree preferred)
• 10+ years experience in PostgreSQL database design, development, tuning, configuration, and maintenance including
  1. PL/pgSQL stored procedures
  2. Point-in-time Recovery
  3. Streaming replication
  4. Role, group, and access management
• 5+ years experience in geographic information systems and PostgreSQL/PostGIS spatial databases
• 5+ years experience in application development with Ruby, and script development in Bash
• 5+ years experience preparing data for release to NASA's Planetary Data System   

Preferred Requirements:

• Experience in Linux systems administration
• Experience in web development with HTML, CSS, and an application language such as Perl, PHP, Python, or Ruby
• Experience in distributed computing
• Experience teaching and mentoring
• Experience presenting at conferences and other professional meetings
