About The Role:
Our long-term client relationship with NASA has led to a need for a Systems Engineer - on the Human Space Flight Technical Integration (HSFTIC) contract at Johnson Space Center (Houston, TX) within our Federal Services division. This role is posted across levels shown below and salary requirement bands are accurate.
- Using 3D CAD Models within Siemens NX software, perform integrated clearance analyses based on stakeholder requirements and ISS configurations to support studies such as:
- ISS external reconfigurations feasibility studies
- Unpressurized Payload/systems ORU enhancements
- Payloads Field of View (FOV)
- Visiting vehicle approach, capture, separation, and departure corridor envelope creation and clearance analysis
- Robotics simulation and kinematic analysis
- 3D envelope generation through CAD and mathematical point cloud computation
- Perform mass and aerodynamic properties calculations for various ISS configuration stages
- Manage and coordinate technical updates to SSP Configuration Document and/or applicable requirements documents to support ISS on-orbit operations
- Work with FOD groups to obtain current on-orbit configuration updates and apply corresponding updates to the 3D CAD integrated model assembly
- Identify and implement tool and process improvements for client deliveries
Requirements:
- Engineer I - 1+ experience in Engineering field
- Engineer II - 5+ years of experience in Engineering field
- Knowledge of systems engineering principles
- Ability to integrate requirements with stakeholders
- Experience with 3D CAD modeling
- Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Verbal and Written Communication Skills
- Bachelor’s in Engineering
Preferred:
- Knowledge of virtual reality design, International Space Station operations, human space flight, flight design, and orbital dynamics
- Experience with Python, C#, Microsoft SQL, and Git
- Ability to maintain and develop engineering tools
- Orbital Dynamics, Space Systems, and 3D CAD Courses
