Summary 
We have a current opportunity in our Littleton, CO facility for an experienced Embedded Software Engineering Supervisor.  As the Software supervisor you are responsible for overseeing and coordinating the people, resources and processes required to deliver new software or upgrade existing products. As well as responsible for the leadership of managing people, executing performance reviews, staffing programs, and career development of employees. 
 
Responsibilities
  • Plan, direct and coordinate all activities related to the software team
  • Provide technical oversight of design, development, and integration of software components
  • Support the team in identifying and addressing impediments to the attainment of goals, including taking action to remove impediments where appropriate
  • Drive sustainable continuous improvement, including by collating and deriving insights from data
  • Generate proposal and estimates inputs for new work
  • Lead the team in applying the appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools using Agile development methodology
  • Guide the team in compliance with the Project Software Development Plan (SDPs)
  • Coordinate with other disciplines when needed such as Systems, Algorithm, FPGA Firmware, and Hardware Teams
  • Supervising a group of up to 10 direct reports
  • Work cross functionally on projects with other teams across Redwire Space
  • Drive performance improvements and execute attainable team goals
  • Execute effective performance management, including delivery of performance reviews
  • Guide the employees regarding career development using Redwire Career Launchpad
  • Support teams or individuals to improve performance and achieve goals through coaching and mentoring
  • Provide flow-down and direction from upper management and the organization
  • Some occasional travel may be required
 
Ideal Experience
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in CS, CE, EE, Math or related field
  • 8 or more years of relevant experience including 2 years in team or departmental leadership capacity
  • Proficiency working with C++ and/or C
  • Experience with SoC/FPGA system design for hardware interfaces such as UART, SPI, I2C, CAN, Camera Sensor Interface (CSI) & Ethernet
  • Background in software development process, experience using the Gitflow workflow model
  • User and proponent of agile development methods
  • Must be US Citizen 
 
Desired Skills
  • Strong communication and people leadership skills
  • Experience building and shipping high reliability embedded systems using embedded Linux
  • Experience with RTOS and/or Embedded Linux device drivers and bootloaders
  • Experience in image processing for camera-based sensor applications
  • Experience with the YOCTO environment
  • Experience with Doxygen or other documentation generator tool
  • Experience with development tools including Atlassian and Jenkins automation
  • Understanding of operating systems fundamentals such as schedulers, network stack, file system & memory management
  • Experienced in software architecture, memory mapping, caching, DMA, interrupts

For Colorado positions:
Pay Range
$130,000 to $160,000

Redwire determines pay for positions using local, national, and industry-specific survey data, for our locations throughout the US. We will evaluate external equity and the cost of labor/prevailing wage index, in the relative marketplace for jobs directly comparable to jobs within our company.
For new hires, we strive to make competitive offers allowing the new employee room for future growth.  Salaries will be based on the applicant’s level of experience, education, and specialized knowledge and skills. Additionally, we consider the external market rate, the amount we have budgeted internally, and internal equity within the company for the same position. An employee/candidate with a stronger skill set will receive higher pay.
