Job Description Qualifications:

The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) organization is seeking an experienced Integration Specialist Technician to support the International Space Station (ISS) and Space Launch Systems (SLS) programs at our location in Huntsville, Alabama.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Performs assigned duties as an individual or as a member of a cross-functional High Performance Work Team (to include supplier and customer representatives), during all phases of assembly, integration and test from developmental prototyping to execution of production integration activities.

  • Operates computing equipment to access job information (e.g., drawings, specifications and other online information systems).

  • Reads and interprets engineering drawings.

  • Visualizes a three-dimensional shape from a two-dimensional view, converting left-hand to right-hand views and understands symbols, flag notes, and general notes.

  • Operates computing equipment to access job information (e.g., drawings, specifications and other online information systems).

  • Uses various types of hand tools and/or hand-held power tools.

  • Uses various types of precision measuring tools.

  • Meets customer satisfaction requirements for quality, performance and reliability.

  • Performs elements of mechanical assembly, integration and test from detail fabrication, buildup of assemblies & subassemblies, through final integration.

  • Performs functional checkouts and system testing of electrical, electronic (if and as required).

  • Troubleshoots, fault isolate and documents non-conformances to correct malfunctions, to component level, with minimal technical support.

  • Performs, as required, approved rework, modification, repairs and incorporation of changes per technical documentation and formal direction to electrical, electronic and mechanical systems.

  • Makes recommendations for refinement to equipment and integration processes by conducting studies and evaluations that result in product and process improvements.

  • May be required to perform duties in and around ordnance or other hazardous materials while maintaining a safe working environment.

This position is 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position is for 1st shift.

This is a union represented position (IAMAW 2766).

This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship. (An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.)

Basic Qualifications (Required):

  • Minimum of a High School Diploma or GED.

  • Experience fabricating, installing, routing, terminating, soldering, and repairing electrical wiring harnesses; or any variety of electrical components, and associated equipment

  • More than 1 year of experience working with precision measuring tools

  • More than 1 year of experience working with powered hand tools or equipment.

  • More than 1 year of experience working with Structures Assembly, Mechanical Assembly, Electrical Assembly, and/or Final Assembly

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Experience with aerospace wire harness build.

  • Current IPC/WHMA-A-620 Certification.

  • More than 1 year of experience reading and analyzing engineering drawings.

Typical Education/Experience:

Work related skills equivalent to 1 year of electronic, mechanical or other related technical experience or a two-year degree in electronics, mechanical or other technical discipline (or at a minimum, successful completion of all electronic courses contained within a 2-year electronics technical degree curriculum).

Relocation:

Relocation assistance is not a negotiable benefit for this position. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.

Travel:

Position may require travel up to 5% of the time.
