EchoStar has an exciting opportunity for Network Management System Engineer in our Hughes Network Systems division. This position is located in our Germantown, MD office.

Job Responsibilities:

• Develop test procedures and configuration of software/features in the network for network management systems.
• Maintain Linux servers and network devices required for the smooth operation of a Hughes internal application. Create new work processes and automate tasks such as monitoring and data collection using BASH scripting or Python.
• Responsible for debugging and fixing issues users report with network management systems application.

Basic Requirements: 

• Master’s degree in Telecommunications, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a closely related field plus 6 months’ experience in Unix/Linux network features or Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a closely related field plus 5 years’ experience in Unix/Linux network features.
• Experience must include 6 months in each of the following: BASH; Python; Linux servers; TCP/IP; networking technologies; and routing/switching protocols.

Will be eligible for discretionary bonus, with funding based on company performance.
