If you answered yes to the question, we invite you to seize the opportunity to make a significant impact as a Radio Frequency and Spectrum Management Engineer. We are seeking dynamic and experienced individuals to join the Frequency Management Office within the Space Safety Office of the Directorate of Operations in ESOC.

In line with security requirements for the concerned missions of this position, the candidate has to hold a European citizenship. Evidence of eligibility will be required from candidates as part of the recruitment process. Furthermore, in view of the nature of the work the company is in, all potential employees will undergo stringent reference and identity checks.

What you´ll do

  • Analize Radio Frequency interference and coordinate satellite networks and ground station antenna systems with other systems (existing and planned).
  • Handle critical parameters driving Radio-Frequency Interference studies, 
  • Support and address the necessary steps required for coordination activities with other satellite operators, or any other users with whom coordination is needed.
  • Contribute to the ITU filing and licensing process of satellite networks and earth stations.
  • Maintain and develop software to support ITU study initiatives, protection of ITU fillings and analysis of satellite communication systems.

What we are looking for

  • A degree in Aerospace/Telecommunications engineering or in a similar subject
  • Deep understanding of satellite Radio-Frequency communication systems and satellite orbits
  • Knowledge of link budgets and desirable experience in related applications.
  • Programming skills in Matlab and/or Python.
  • Fluent in English, both in speech and writing
  • The following skills and experience would be highly desirable:
    • Knowledge of ITU regulations and recommendations as well as international standards for radio frequency and modulation of satellite systems
    • Knowledge and understanding of radio propagation
    • Knowledge and experience in the use of ITU software tools for satellite filing
    • Knowledge of relational database systems, particularly MS Access
