Job Description Qualifications:

Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity for a Mid-Level Product Repair/Mod Technician to support the Commercial Crew Team in Kennedy Space Center, FL.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Assembles, disassembles and/or modifies systems by changing, removing, replacing or upgrading aerospace vehicle components to correct failures or implement changes

  • Oversees assembly, disassembly or overhaul

  • Configures aerospace vehicles and bench test equipment

  • Troubleshoots complex pneumatic, hydraulic and electrical systems to isolate mechanical or electrical faults and repair faulty components

  • Performs validation/verification testing of systems and components

  • Documents procedures and established processes to ensure contractual and regulatory compliance (e.g., repairs, test results, applicable modifications and inspection results)

  • Inspects components and verifies repairs for flight worthiness requirements

  • Oversees training

  • Works under general direction

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This is a NASA safety-sensitive position and is subject to random drug and alcohol testing.

This position requires the ability to obtain access to a National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) facility

This position must meet export control compliance requirements. To meet export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.15 is required.  “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.  

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 3+ years’ experience with spacecraft manufacturing

  • 3+ years’ in repair, maintenance, and retrofit processes and practices

  • 3+ years’ experience with electrical/electronic troubleshooting, routing, splicing, connectors, bundle dressing, etc.

  • Experience in fluid testing and/or mechanical testing

  • Experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications

  • Experience using computers, including typing and utilization of the Microsoft Office suite

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 3+ years’ experience working with Human Spaceflight hardware

  • Experience in the use of Electronic Work Order / Planning systems

  • Experience with the use of a calibration recall system

  • Experience in both electrical and mechanical calibration disciplines

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Familiar with the following standards: ISO / IEC 17025 and ANSI / NCSL Z540.1 / Z540.3

Typical Education & Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through basic education (e.g. High School diploma/GED) and typically 4 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. vocational school/Associate+2 years' related work, Bachelor, etc.).

Relocation:

Travel:

Position may require travel up to 10% of the time.
