SECURITY OPERATIONS COORDINATOR

As ABL’s Security Coordinator, you are responsible for holistic and comprehensive security operations coordination. This includes, but is not limited to, access management, visitor processing, investigations, security hardware/software installations, document writing, invoice management, and corporate security integrity. This role is responsible for overseeing and coordinating operations of the ABL contract security guard force, security vendors, auditors, consultants, and other interested parties.   

In this role you – and our Security vendors - are the first to engage all visitors to ABL; professionalism, approachability, and a positive attitude are critical. In this role, you are expected to partner with your peer employees and managers to implement standardized security processes and practices across business teams. As Security Coordinator, you are responsible for conducting training and education for all of ABL. The position also serves as ABL’s alternate emergency services and first responders community liaison ensuring inclusion, partnership, and cohesion exists between ABL and the emergency services professionals supporting each of our locations. This role is an essential component to the security organization and requires time management, accountability, and most importantly, a team player. The Security Operations Coordinator is assigned to the ABL HQ office in El Segundo, California, and reports to the Director of Security.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure accurate scheduling, logging, and verification of all visitors to ABL. Notify POCs of their visitors’ arrivals. Issue badges to employees and visitors. 
  • Coordinate access management with sites in which ABL has a presence (currently MASP, Vandenberg and ARFL). 
  • Manage security technology: ENVOY, Avigilon and Lenel access control and video monitoring systems. 
  • Manage the contract security guard force (CGF) operations at all ABL sites and serve as CGF/ABL initial POC and relationship liaison. Coordinate with the on-duty security guard the escort of vendors and contractors.  
  • Coordinate and implement security education, training, certification, and re-certification for ABL employees, contracts, projects, and initiatives. Communicate policies verbally and through other internal communication channels (email, Teams, Confluence). 
  • Draft, review, and submit security standard practice procedures, security operating procedures, security post orders, special instructions, and supplemental security guidance. Coordinate with Safety to draft, train, test and implement ABL’s Emergency Response Plans (ERPs).  
  • Execute bi-monthly visits all California remote sites, for contract security oversite and shareholder needs. 
  • Assist HR with corporate investigations, including CCTV review as requested by HR or Head of Security. 
  • Complete holistic security investigations as instructed by and with the assistance of the Security Director. 
  • Draft, review and submit reports. 
  • Draft, review and submit purchase orders (POs). 
  • Coordinate and oversee on-site work completed by security vendors for system repairs, installs, changes, and enhancements. 
  • Serve as security communications liaison with local law enforcement, first responders, security vendors, and companies. 
  • Coordinate and execute the implementation of security hardware and software onto ABL furnished equipment or property in partnership with IT.  
  • Assist with new hire orientation: take badge photos, create physical badges, and submit badges to IT for access levels. Notify HR when ‘new hires’ are ready for orientation. Present Security policies at new hire orientation. 
  • Coordinate with Office of Trade Compliance and POC’s for VIP and Foreign Visitor visits. 
  • Assist in the coordination of VIP visitors ensuring that their entry is smooth. Register all VIPs in our internal system the day of visit. 
  • Complete other special security assignments, projects, and tasks as requested by the Security Director. 

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 3+ years of security experience in an industrial or business setting
  • A valid driver’s license in good standing
  • A functional personal vehicle

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Corporate security knowledge.
  • Experience with visitor management systems. 
  • Excellent customer service skills. 
  • Experience with or the ability to lean Lenel and Avigilon systems. 
  • Must be able to engage with high level civilian and military professionals competently.

  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time.  
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds with reasonable accommodations.  
  • Ability to use a computer to complete assignments.  
  • Ability to communicate with individuals and groups in person, by phone and telepresence.  
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee will typically work in an office environment.
This is the lowest to highest compensation range we reasonably and in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. An employee’s pay position within the compensation range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.
