Located in Durango, CO, (Headquarters) and Mount Pleasant, PA (Additive Manufacturing Center) Agile Space Industries, Inc. (AGILE) designs, builds, and tests in-space propulsion systems for satellites and spacecraft. AGILE uses state of the art 3D metal alloy printing techniques to rapidly design, manufacture, and test new engine designs in our purpose-built propulsion test facility. With over a decade of experience testing rocket engines, and engineers who have worked at industry leaders like Blue Origin, SpaceX, NASA, and Rocketdyne, AGILE is a rapidly growing company with many exciting Defense, Civil and Commercial programs.

 

Description of the Position

As a Quality Control Inspector, you'll be using your skills and expertise to ensure that our incoming parts, in-process production, and shipped product fulfill all quality requirements. You'll be responsible for inspecting our materials, parts, documentation, and products at different stages of production. You will measure parts using standard inspection equipment. You will record observations and will make recommendations for improving processes. You'll inspect for mechanical, electrical and material conformance to technical drawings and documentation.  You will ensure product compliance documentation is complete and accurate.  You'll apply, revise, and maintain our quality standards for receiving, in-process, and final inspection.

Job Details:

  • Perform inspection of incoming parts, in-process work, and final product using inspection equipment / gauging.
  • Document inspection results.
  • Interpret technical drawings and documentation for inspection.
  • Initiate nonconformance reports when parts do not meet prints.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to assist with problem-solving activities when nonconformances are identified.
  • Review End Item Data Packs and First Article Inspection Reports.
  • Collaborate with engineering team to draft and update inspection work instructions and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Ensure conformance to quality standard, such as ISO 9001, AS9100, or J-STD.
  • Accommodate flexible scheduling as dictated by manufacturing needs.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
  • 3+ years of relevant work experience
  • Demonstrated attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated experience working with complex mechanisms and structures.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively and collaboratively in team environments.
  • Ability to work autonomously and take initiative in a high cadence environment.
  • Ability to work with multiple deadlines and commitments with limited to no supervision.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively utilize a computer. Familiar with Microsoft applications.
  • Comfortable with change and growth to embrace new techniques as they emerge.
  • Ability to maintain a positive company image and brand, both inside and outside of the work environment.
  • US CITIZEN OR PERMANENT RESIDENCY IS REQUIRED

Preferred:

  • Experience working in a quality or inspection role.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance may be required.
  • Experience working with measuring/metrology equipment.
  • Previous use of and understanding of ASME Y14.5 Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Experience inspecting in a dynamic factory environment.
  • Ability to read technical drawings.  
  • Experience working to AS9100 and/or ISO 9001 standards.
  • Knowledge of calibration standards / practices (ANSI Z540 / ISO 17025).
  • Ability to generate AS9102 First Article Inspection reports.

Physical Requirements:

  • Frequently walk, sit, and stand.
  • Frequently repeat same hand, arm, and finger motion many times to include finger and hand dexterity.
  • Frequently requires vision abilities to include close, distance, depth perception, and telling the difference between colors
  • Frequently requires hearing abilities to include discerning different tones and volumes
  • Frequently lifting or carrying up to 20 lbs.

Employment Type: Non-Exempt

Salary: $17-30 / hr dependent on experience.
