About the role

Muon Space is seeking a Satellite Operations Technical Program Manager to join our team.  As a Satellite Operations Technical Program Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and optimization of satellite operations across multiple programs critical to our mission success. You will drive cross-functional teams, collaborate with stakeholders, and work on continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of our satellite operations.

This role will be located on-site at least 3 days per week at our headquarters in Mountain View, California.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning, execution, and optimization of satellite operations programs, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and operational requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define operational objectives, requirements, and key performance indicators.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive program plans, identifying dependencies, risks, and mitigation strategies.
  • Coordinate and prioritize customer requests, ensuring timely and effective responses to meet their operational needs.
  • Coordinate with all software engineering teams to support the deployment, commissioning, and maintenance of satellite systems.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with external partners and service providers to support operational activities.
  • Provide regular updates to stakeholders, including senior management, on program status, risks, and mitigation plans.
  • Maintain robust communication channels for  incident responses and recovery efforts, ensuring effective coordination across internal and external teams.

Qualifications 

  • BS or MS degree in computer science, engineering or equivalent job experience
  • Significant experience in establishing and managing operations intersecting hardware and software programs, ideally for satellite missions. 
  • Strong technical background with expertise in satellite systems, telemetry analysis, and command and control operations.
  • Experience with satellite ground systems, satellite communication protocols, and satellite mission planning tools
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated experience in program management, including planning, scheduling, and risk management.
  • Strategic thinker with a results-oriented mindset and a commitment to driving excellence and innovation.

Salary

The salary range for this role is $95K and $190k and will depend on a candidate's skills, qualifications, and experience as defined during the interview process.
