We are searching for a Senior Contracts Manager to join the Muon Space team. As Contracts Manager, you will be responsible for developing and negotiating Government and Commercial contracts. The Contracts Manager reports to the President/ Chief Legal Counsel and collaborates closely with Vice President of Growth, Program Management, Regulatory, Security and Finance departments. 

Must be eligible for a security clearance.

About this Role

As a Senior Contracts Manager, you will be responsible for defining, negotiating and establishing both Commercial and Government contracts. The Contracts Manager will work closely with the Sales organization, legal and Program Management to ensure that Contracts enable Muon to successfully complete Programs. The Contracts Manager will review all solicitations, teaming agreements, Non-Disclosure-Agreements, subcontracts and other artifacts as needed to support the company. The Contracts Manager will identify and review all compliance regulations and coordinate with Regulatory and Security elements of the company to ensure overall compliance. 

Location: This position can be located in Mountain View, CA, Northern Virginia, or Remote.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contract Strategy and Execution: lead the formation of new contracts and the expansion of existing ones. Leverage your in-depth understanding of federal acquisition strategy and procedures to support capture, implementation and growth of contracts.
  • Relationship Management: cultivate and manage professional relationships with government contracting officers and their representatives.
  • Acquisition Lifecycle Oversight and Management: provide advice throughout the acquisition lifecycle, including evaluating opportunities, proposal development, negotiations, execution, and dispute resolution.
  • Holistic Support: participate in other projects as needed and contribute to the areas where you have unique skills.
  • Business Strategy and Innovation: collaborate across departments to enable business strategy and promote innovation.
  • Risk Assessment and Management: analyze and assess risks associated with Muon Space’s contracts and business operations. Collaborate with leadership teams to develop and implement risk mitigation strategies while enabling business growth.
  • Record Keeping and Documentation: maintain meticulous records, contracts, and documentation related to contracts and compliance efforts.
  • Policy Development: collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement effective contract-related policies and procedures.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 7 years of contracts management experience.
  • Experience in a law firm and/or established government contractor setting.
  • Direct experience with government defense or intelligence community within the past two years.
  • Willingness to visit customers throughout the National Capital Region.
  • Communicate with clarity and influence, fostering productive relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to thrive with minimal supervision.
  • Resilience, resourcefulness, and the ability to make decisions with imperfect information.
  • Enjoy utilizing technology to increase efficiency.
  • Willingness to challenge the status quo and seek innovative solutions.

Desired Qualifications

  • TS/SCI security clearance, read-in within the past two years.
  • Experience with aerospace or space industry contracting. 
  • Experience working with a diverse set of Commercial, U.S. Government DoD, IC and Civil customers.
  • Engineering or other technical experience.
  • Experience with Cost Accounting Standards and Management.

Salary: The salary range for this role is $125K- $175K and will depend on a candidate's skills, qualifications, and experience as defined during the interview process.
