About the role

Muon seeks an Electrical & Harness Technician to join our Assembly, Integration, and Test team.  The ideal candidate is a self-motivated technician that will help both the Electrical Engineering team with prototype projects, as well as the Assembly, Integration, and Test team to prepare flight hardware as a part of building the satellites. This role will be located on-site at least 3 days per week at our headquarters in Mountain View, California.

Responsibilities

  • Build and test prototype and flight harnesses and avionics modules
  • Perform reworks on both engineering and flight hardware
  • Run qualification and acceptance tests on electrical flight hardware
  • Coordinate with supply chain team to kit parts, follow and contribute to written instructions for assembly and test
  • Help with setup and modification of test and development hardware in the lab
  • Assist engineers with taking measurements for design characterization

Qualifications 

  • Experience manufacturing harnesses with high reliability requirements
  • Familiarity with NASA-STD-8739.4 and IPC-A-620
  • History with using electrical test equipment, such as power supplies and electric loads
  • Ability to independently troubleshoot electronics and test rack issues 
  • Ability to rigorously follow written procedures and document results
  • Capable of some soldering (fine pitch rework not a requirement, but a nice-to-have)
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excited to work in a fast-paced environment with new challenges each week

Nice-to-have Skills

  • Fine pitch soldering ability
  • Experience drafting harness drawing in CAD tools
  • Certification in relevant build/rework standards

Salary Range

The salary range for this role is $40 to $60/ hourly and will depend on a candidate's skills, qualifications, and experience as defined during the interview process.
