Northrop Grumman is seeking a Cost Accountant to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in El Segundo, CA with the possibly of a hybrid schedule.

Essential Functions:

Able to apply principles of accounting to analyze general ledger account balances, researching and processing corrections. Candidate must be able to understand the concept of overhead application and able to perform quarterly validations. Responsible for ensuring non labor transfer and food service requests are in compliance with policy and processed timely. Interact with customers on daily bases assisting them with research, inquiries and requests. Able to work special projects as needed.

Responsible for uploading and reviewing Project Master Data requests and ensuring all required data fields are correctly completed and uploaded. The AS sectors Project master data includes Profit centers, Networks and WBS.

This person will be required to work closely with all the different programs within the AS sector. This requires answering questions and providing status on allocated cost and overheads. Will be responsible for ensuring non labor transfer and accruals are in compliance with policy and processed timely. Being the lead will require you to interact with customers on a daily bases, assisting the programs with research requests or inquires. Must be able to perform with the sector labor accounts and types of labor. Which will lead to detailed analysis and reconciliation of labor allocations. At times the lead accountant will need to work special projects or lead teams on special task

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree with 3 years of experience or a Master's degree with 1 year of experience

  • Ability to work onsite in El Segundo, CA

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Business Degree in Accounting or Finance

  • Understanding of Microsoft Office

  • Excel Expert

  • Government Accounting experience

  • Costing Accounting Standards knowledge

  • Familiar with the SAP project System module

  • Familiar with the SAP CO module

  • Experience working with auditors

  • Detailed oriented and self-motivated with abilities to prioritize and meet tight schedules and deadlines

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. Salary Range: $65,600.00 - $98,400.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results.
