Job Description Qualifications:

Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is seeking an Experienced Fabrication Specialist (Level C) to support the Fabrication Emergent Operations Team over the EOSC Wire Shop in North Charleston, South Carolina on Variable Shift!

This position is currently for a weekend 12-hour day shifts: Friday, Saturday, Sunday; 5:30am-5:30pm, but it may change in the long term as per business need. In this role successful candidate will be a dynamic, self-motivated teammate that will support the 787-program with structures related rework to include but not limited to drilling oversize holes, pulling holes, roto-peens, match drills, freeze plugs, and more; along with the many tasks and plans required to perform this re-work on aircraft sections and/or completed aircraft. They will be responsible for, but are not limited to, performing tasks in the following areas: factory floor, flight line, shop area, at heights and confined spaces. The candidate will be willing to teach, learn and maintain the commitment to safety and quality that is EOSC and to work independently with minimal oversight.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Develops and implements manufacturing processes.

  • Provides concurrent engineering support.

  • Defines production activities and resolves problems of limited scope.

  • Reviews and approves technical documents.

  • Analyzes charging trends and develops projected workforce forecast.

  • Assists with the preparation and justification for major capital expenditures and equipment implementation.

  • Leads projects and participates in technical research on proposed projects.

  • Serves as primary contact with internal customers.

  • Translates data into a practical plan for implementation within the organization.

  • Compiles and provides management status reports for corrective/preventative action.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Confined Space Certification and Fall Protection Certification.

  • Exhibits Boeing Behaviors.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at North Charleston, SC.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills and Experience):

  • Willing and able to work any shift assigned.

  • 1+ year of experience in Aerospace, Fabrication or Manufacturing.

  • 1+ years of experience working with Microsoft Office Tools (Outlook, Excel, Power Point, Word).

  • 1+ years of experience reading and interpreting drawings or blueprints.

  • 1+ years of experience working both independently and in a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 3+ years of experience in aircraft assembly procedures.

  • 3+ years of experience with 787 program operations.

  • 3+ years of experience in the use of structures tooling, equipment and hand tools.

  • 3+ years of excellent performance in a fast-paced work environment.

  • 3+ years of experience effectively communicating status of parts and material using automated systems and manual reporting methods to ensure parts availability at an accelerated rate in a dynamic environment.

  • 3+ years of experience coordinating with various functions to set priorities, expedite and complete production activities to avoid schedule delays.

  • 2+ years of experience with 5S Experience & Knowledge (Lean, Six Sigma a plus).

Typical Education/Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through basic education (e.g. High School diploma/GED) and typically 4 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. vocational school/Associate+2 years' related work, Bachelor, etc.).
