Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Manager Contracts Administration 2 to lead its team of qualified and diverse individuals, supporting the Missile Defense Weapon System (MDWS) operating unit (OU), as the Ground-Based Midcourse Defense Weapon System (GWS) Program Contracts Manager.  The successful candidate must be a proven leader and have demonstrated experience managing and administering prime contracts, directly with Federal Government or Department of Defense (DoD) customers.

As Manager Contracts Administration 2, the selected candidate will also be required to provide objective-oriented direction utilizing management guidelines, general policies and maintain a strong level of engagement, while dynamically leading, inspiring, motivating and developing a small team of contract professionals. This position will be on-site in Huntsville, AL. There is no full time remote telework available for this position.

This position requires that the candidate hold an active Secret clearance on Day 1.

In this role, the successful candidate will report to the MDWS OU Sr. Contracts Manager and will be responsible for all aspects of the GWS contracts portfolio delivering strong customer satisfaction, successful financial performance, and risk mitigation.  Additionally, the successful candidate will be responsible for the direct supervision and management of a geographically dispersed team of contract professionals within the program’s portfolio, and organic growth efforts.

The Manager Contract Administrator 2 responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide trusted and valued advice and guidance on contractual matters and business aspects in support of program goals.
  • Build strong customer intimacy and employee engagement to assist with growing this important business area.  This includes quickly orienting to regulations and acquisition procedures.
  • Review and approve contractual documents for protection of the company's contractual/risk posture, satisfaction of contractual requirements, and adherence to company policies.
  • Plan and execute successful contract negotiations and achieving targeted rates of return, as well as favorable terms and conditions to assist in meeting operating margin and cash goals.
  • Make decisions in a timely manner, offer guidance, and work cooperatively with a multitude of organizations ranging from technical, program, finance, supply chain, legal, and security. Demonstrate broad spectrum of skills - from attention to detail, to assessing macro-level impacts.
  • Solve complex problems by actively seeking information and new ideas from a variety of sources. Conduct daily operations in a proactive and forward-looking manner.
  • Collaborating with the OU to provide concise guidance related to C101 Approval of Commitments for Company Products and Services and other procedures.

Basic Qualifications:

  • This position emphasizes skills and experience. Will consider one of following:
    • Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 8+ years applied or related experience
    • Master’s degree with a minimum of 6+ years applied or related experience
  • Prime contract experience with the Missile Defense Agency (MDA), and a variety of contract types such as Cost Plus, Fixed Price, etc.
  • Demonstrated understanding of and experience with the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) / Defense Federal Acquisition Regulations Supplement (DFARS)
  • Demonstrated proficiency with MS Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Active secret clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree, or equivalent professional certification in Acquisition and Contract Management.
  • 8+years’ experience in government contracting.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience or supervisor experience.
  • Prior experience negotiating complex strategic agreements and contracts.
  • Indefinite Delivery, Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) experience.
  • Ability to Travel 10%.

Salary Range: $119,800.00 - $179,600.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
