Maxar is looking for an energetic Data Visualization and Reporting Engineer to join our Platform Governance team. This person will join our Platform governance team to automate the creation and management of reports and dashboards that will be leveraged by all levels of Maxar.  These dashboards and reports are directly aligned to the security and maintenance of our platforms and cloud systems.   The chosen person will have a very large impact on Maxar’s ability to convey important security information and inspiring teams to action.

What you will do day to day:

• Design, build, and test dashboards and reports that will vary in audience all the way from VP’s that want to understand macro trends, down to teams that are leveraging them to guide their day-to-day work.
• Work with teams to identify and understand reporting and dashboarding business requirements
• Deliver and continually refine reports and dashboards to meet updated requirements/needs
• Integrating with several data source to pull together data in a cohesive fashion
• Making data tell a story that will inspire action

Minimum Requirements:

• Must be a U.S. Citizen
• Bachelor’s degree in software engineering or related field (may substitute 4 years professional experience)
• Must have 4+ years’ recent experience aggregating data from various systems such as relational database systems, web services, Excel spreadsheets, or other sources
• Must have 4+ years’ recent experience creating data visualizations in tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or other similar tools
• Must have 4+ years’ recent experience analyzing data to understand and extract trends, issues, outliers, etc.
• Must have 10+ years’ experience in data analysis/reporting/data visualizations or related field

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with Tableau
• Experience with Power BI
• Experience with cyber security and understanding of vulnerability reporting
• Understanding of cloud based infrastructure
• Ability to analyze data and choose visualizations that will highlight important data/trends

Our salary ranges are market-driven and set to allow for flexibility. Individual pay will be competitive based on a candidate’s unique set of knowledge, skills, and geographic diversity, with earnings potential commensurate with experience. The range for this position is:

$104,000.00 - $174,000.00 annually.

 

Additionally, this position is incentive eligible with a target based on contribution, company performance, and/or individual results achieved; the specific incentive plan and target amount will be determined based on the role and breadth of contributions.
