Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking Software Engineer / Principal Software Engineer. This position will be located in Roy, Utah and will support the Sentinel program.

What You’ll Get To Do:

  • Design and define system architecture for new or existing complex computer systems
  • Determine system specifications, input/output processes, and working parameters for hardware/software compatibility and maintenance of system security
  • Coordinate design of subsystems and integration of total system
  • Identify, analyze, and adjudicate software deficiencies
  • Perform integration testing, regression testing, and formal qualification testing in an agile software development environment
  • Work with the lead test engineer and a team of software developers to establish and develop test methods and techniques
  • Design, develop, and maintain software test plans, software test cases, software test procedures, and automated software test in compliance with program functional, technical, and performance requirements
  • Generate software test data, perform test data analysis, and develop test documentation
  • Participate in formal testing events, customer meetings, and software design reviews
  • This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret or Top-Secret clearance as well as Program Special Access within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company to meet its business needs.

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.  This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.

Job Qualifications: 

You’ll Bring These Qualifications:

  • Software Engineer: 2 Years with Bachelor’s in relevant field of study, 1 year with Masters or 4 additional years in lieu of a degree.
  • Principal Software Engineer: 5 Years with Bachelor’s in relevant field of study, 3 Years with Masters, 0 years with PhD or 4 additional years in lieu of a degree.
  • Active DoD Secret clearance with a re-investigation date occurring in the last 6 years.
  • US Citizenship and ability to obtain Special Program Access (SAP).
  • Experience developing software/writing code in C/C++/C#, Python, Java, or similar programming language.

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university in software engineering.
  • Knowledgeable in object-oriented programming and design patterns, hardware/software communication interfaces, real-time and post processing data analytics.
  • Security+ Certification.
  • Experience with IBM Engineering Lifecycle Management (ELM).
  • Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering using Cameo.
  • Experience with Real Time Component Framework (RTCF).
  • Experience with the Atlassian Tool Suite.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies.
  • SCRUM master certification or experience in SCRUM master role

Salary Range: $75,300.00 - $112,900.00Salary Range 2: $92,600.00 - $139,000.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
