Position Overview:  This position, located on site in Danbury CT is for a Quality Control Supervisor to manage the optical inspection department and perform program quality engineering tasks for assigned programs.  This individual will be responsible for leading a team of Quality Inspectors for incoming materials as well as in-process inspections ensuing activities are completed in a timely manner to support manufacturing operations and meeting profit plan targets/goals. Position will also be required to support program activities in a Quality engineering capacity.

 

Specific Requirements:

In this position, you will be responsible for:

  • Leadership of the inspection teams
  • Management of materials flow through the inspection department.
  • Coordination of inspections or other work with material planners and operations.
  • Strategic and tactical management of the quality and inspection organization.
  • Identification and execution of department / site improvement activities.
  • Management and prioritization of substantial and diverse workload and changing priorities.
  • Development, training and technical support tools for users with varying levels of inspection skills.
  • Completion of annual performance reviews.
  • Coaching and mentoring on job performance.
  • Communication and escalation of concerns to responsible parties in real time.
  • SAP and department reporting to support escapes and material flow management
  • Quality Engineering support to assigned programs.

 

Travel Requirements: <10%

 

Education Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s degree and 3 years of relevant experience
  • In absence of a degree, 7 years of relevant experience is required

 

Experience Required:

Minimum of five (5) years of Quality experience, including experience in program quality engineering.

 

Basic Qualifications:

  • Strong working knowledge of optics and the optical inspection process.
  • Strong working knowledge of quality processes and program requirements.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience (can be project leadership and/or experience providing training and guidance to others)
  • Demonstrated expertise in program quality engineering.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to communicate, listen to, and interpret instructions, occasionally operate tools and/or machinery with hands and arms and remain stationary for extended periods of the time. The employee will use protective equipment when working with chemicals, move between workstations, reach, and replace equipment, and move items weighing up to 25 lbs. ITC & Security Clearance Requirements:

Due to contract requirements, US citizenship is required. Additionally, if you are a dual citizen (a citizen of the US and another country), the Company must obtain approval for you to have access to the information required for this position.
