The National Systems Group serves as the technical advisor to the Intelligence Community and its mission partners involved in the collection and distribution of national and tactical intelligence, including electronics programs, advanced technologies, ground and communications, imagery programs, and systems engineering and launch.

The GEOINT Innovations Office (GIO) under the National Systems Group (NSG) serves as the technical adviser to the government's national intelligence electro-optical programs. The mission systems department within GIO uses a wide range of Aerospace core competencies to support program objectives along the system lifecycle.  We are looking for a Retiree Casual R3 to provide Systems Engineering for GIO

Work Model

This is a part-time casual based in Chantilly, VA, which requires 100% onsite work.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Provide support to, and participate in, and conduct independent review of concept of operations, program requirements flow down and concept definitions.
  • Assess concept trade studies, performance analyses, and conduct risk assessments.
  • Assess new technical capabilities and their impact on new concepts.
  • Assist in the application of legacy program lessons learned.

What You Need to be Successful

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in engineering, science or mathematics or related field.
  • A minimum of 12 years of engineering experience.
  • Strong space system acquisition experience
  • Experience with DoD and/or IC systems acquisition, design, manufacture, integration, and test
  • This position requires ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, including a polygraph, which is issued by the U.S. government. U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.
  • Ability to obtain additional special accesses as needed.

How You Can Stand Out

It would be impressive if you have one or more of these:

  • Master of Science degree in STEM field
  • 20 or more years of space system acquisition experience.
  • Desire to work in a collaborative on-site office environment with the customer.
