The Space Systems Sector is seeking an experienced Sr. Principal Software Engineer in to join a Ground team based out of Morrisville NC, Fairfax VA, or Linthicum MD.

The successful candidate for this position will join a group of Software engineers that is adapting and upgrading an existing Command and Control platform for a new ground program.

We are seeking an experienced Software Developer to work as a member of an Agile team developing a high-visibility, mission critical component of a larger system. The ideal candidate will be responsible for working individually and as part of a C2 team to refactor and upgrade code. This role could be a combination of leadership and developer for the right candidate.

The team is seeking a talented engineer who resolves software problems and utilizes software development and software design methodologies appropriate to the development environment. The successful candidate shall have experience with C++, refactoring and upgrading code to implement new features in place of new development, and requirements analysis and synthesis from system level to individual software components.

Basic Qualifications:

• Senior Principal Software Engineer: Bachelor's degree in STEM and a minimum of 9 years of relevant experience; 7 years of relevant experience with a Master's degree, or 4 years with a PhD. 13+ years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
• Must be a US Citizen with an active TS with SCI eligibility.
• C++ and Python
• Atlassian (Bitbucket/Jira/Confluence)
• Agile
• Past SW leadership
• Experience with Agile software development using C++ in a Linux environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• CI/CD Pipelines (Jenkins)
• Experience with Command and Telemetry Databases
• Automated Testing
• Experience with Commercial Cloud Services (C2S) or Amazon Web Services (AWS)

• Experience with Atlassian tools (JIRA, Confluence, Bitbucket)

• CI poly or FSP

• Active TS/SCI

• CompTIA Security +

Salary Range: $121,000.00 - $181,400.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
