The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS), Ground Development and Mission Operations Division seeks an Entry Level Systems Engineer to join the Space Domain Awareness and Space Superiority team located in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
The Systems Engineer will be a part of a small high-performing team that is engaged in key USG proprietary space programs, specifically, US Space Force operational assets and networks that are operated at Schriever SFB (SSFB), located 15 miles from the Boeing depot which provides operational and sustainment support to the programs, and office space for the Boeing Team.
This position will support general Systems Engineering activities for critical national defense programs and work directly with and assist the Boeing Red LAN Program Lead Engineers and program senior SEIT leadership.
Position Responsibilities:
- Assist with updating and maintaining Master Program Schedules, discrepancy reports (DR) and resolution, mission activities, system test, and anomaly resolution.
- Coordinate and communicate with the government operations customer and internal program offices in the accomplishment of day-to-day tasks.
- Respond to rapidly changing customer requirements.
- Assist in resolving cross-functional technical issues.
- Assist in negotiating change requests with internal leadership and customer review boards.
- Assist in coordinating resolution of action items from Configuration Control Board (CCB) meetings, design reviews, program reviews, and test reviews that require cross-discipline coordination.
- Provide engineering support for customer network operations.
- Perform detailed technical document reviews.
This position is expected to be fully onsite. You will work onsite in Colorado Springs, CO with routine local paid travel to the operational location at SSFB to interface with our customer and the Boeing team members directly supporting day to day mission execution.
This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim or final U.S. TS/SCI Clearance Post-Start is required.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.
Preferred Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- Experience in ground systems and space systems.
- Experience working systems engineering across multiple phases of the product lifecycle.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams and external customers.
- Experience with Department of Defense (DoD) Programs.
- Active Security Clearance.
Typical Education & Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience. In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
